On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Project <br />Agreement and the Operation and Maintenance Agreement with the Soil Conservation Service for the RC &D <br />Project along County Roads 31 and 4. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Engineer and in conjunction with Clay County, Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to award the bid for a truck mounted striping machine to General <br />Equipment of Fargo in the amount of $69,659.29 on Alternate #2, and to award the bid for a self propelled <br />chip spreader to Sweeney Brothers in the amount of $59,400.00 on Alternate #2. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Duane Boehning from Ulteig Engineers presented a Plat of Adam's 3rd Subdivision, which was <br />approved by the Cass County Planning Commission on May 7, 1987. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Plat of Adam's 3rd Subdivision located in Barnes <br />Township. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Plat of <br />Cameron Sondreal Subdivision, located in Reed Township, which was also approved by the County Planning <br />Commission on May 7, 1987. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Sheriff's Deputy Bud Warren be granted permission <br />for out of state travel on the date of May 12 -14, 1987, to attend a Crime Conference in Aberdeen, South <br />Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Bonnie Johnson, Regional Child Support Enforcement <br />Director, be authorized to hire a Secretary II in Pay Grade 5 at a salary of $1,000 per month to replace <br />Deb Fernandez, who resigned. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Administrative Assistant Scott Krueger be authorized <br />to obtain informal bids for the three phases of the exterior landscaping project on the Courthouse block <br />at a cost not to exceed $49,950.00. Mr. Sondrall questioned spending this amount of money when the <br />Commission has not allocated salary increases for County employees for 1987, but Mr. Wieland stated that <br />the cost of the landscaping was budgeted for in the the Capital Projects Fund. At the call for the <br />question and upon roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Eckert asked that the bids be <br />submitted according to each phase. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Administrative Assistant be authorized to <br />proceed with obtaining informal bids for the Juvenile Justice Center remodeling for the County Extention <br />Offices and for the Juvenile Court Referee at a cost not to exceed $74,700.00. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve an expenditure of $360.00 for copy and display <br />of a collection of photographs of Cass County States Attorneys, subject to review of the Art and <br />Architecture Committee. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to approve Change Order M -4 in the amount of $838.00 <br />for installation of a thermostat and water cooled air conditioning unit in the Data Processing Office. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve Change Order E -13 in the amount of $1,709.00 <br />which was previously referred to the Architect and electrical engineer for verification. The motion <br />carried on roll call vote with four members voting "Aye Mr. Eckert opposing. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve Change Order E -16 in the amount of $255.00 for <br />electrical power for the clock tower. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the County Auditor be authorized to pay $35,908.64 <br />from the Capital Projects Fund to Steffen's Office Equipment for furnishings. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Scott Krueger reported that he will provide the Commissioners with employee salary information prior <br />to the Commissioners meeting at 8:00 A.M. next Tuesday, May 19th, to discuss salary increases for 1987. <br />County Auditor Ordelle Brua reported that she has been petitioned by the City of Ayr to be annexed <br />into the Page Rural Fire Protection District. There will be a hearing before the Board of County <br />Commissioners at 10:00 A.M., June 9, 1987. <br />Mr. Eckert reported on the auction sale held on April 30th for the sale of unused County equipment <br />and furnishings. He stated that the County's net profit was $6,686.84 with the expense for rental of <br />storage units prior to the sale remaining to be paid. Mr. Eckert was commended for his efforts in <br />organizing the sale, and the Commission will send a letter of appreciation to the County's Maintenance <br />Department and the County Road Department for their assistance in preparing for the auction. <br />
