the lower level of the Juvenile Detention Center building, and that <br />a total ban on smoking be effective July 1, 1987. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried with Mr. Wieland, Mr. Larson and Mrs. Stanton voting <br />"Aye Mr. Eckert and Mr. Sondrall voting "No <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman <br />and the Auditor be authorized to sign the City Pothole and Street <br />Repair Fund agreements with the cities of West Fargo, Grandin, Kindred, <br />Buffalo, Harwood, Reiles Acres, Frontier and Tower City. Motion <br />carried. <br />The Commission authorized Administrative Assistant Scott Krueger <br />to contact the Extension Horticulturist on Courthouse landscaping <br />and to obtain cost estimates on proposed diagonal parking near the <br />Courthouse. <br />Mr. Wieland reported that Sheriff Don Rudnick is living in the <br />Sheriff's Residence adjacent to the County Jail, and expects to move <br />out upon 30 -day notice from the Board of Commissioners. Mr. Larson <br />asked Scott Krueger to obtain cost estimates on demolition of the <br />building. Mrs. Stanton suggested first advertising for proposals <br />to see if someone would be interested in moving it rather demolishing <br />it. <br />Correspondence was received from the Data Processing Manager <br />requesting permission to hire staff replacement, due to the <br />resignation of Janice Becker effective March 31, 1987. Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded to accept the resignation of Janice <br />Becker and authorize Richard Offutt to hire staff replacement. Motion <br />carried. <br />Scott Krueger reported that the Law Enforcement Center Committee <br />received about 18 responses to their request for proposals, and they <br />will be reviewing them prior to holding interviews. <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting <br />was adjourned <br />
