PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />Upon the recommendation of Data Processing Manager Richard Offutt, Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton <br />seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the licensing agreement With CCSI for Road Department <br />computer software. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant approval for out of state travel for Richard <br />Offutt, Arlene Klug, Audrey Borgerson and Frank Podoll to attend a training session for operating the <br />Road Department computer software in St. Cloud, Minnesota on June 9 and 10, 1986. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Richard Offutt requested the Commission to reassign the position of computer technician supervisor <br />to report directly to the Data Processing Manager. He stated that the job description will basically <br />remain the same at this time, but the duties will change as the County progresses toward the long -range <br />data processing plan. The duties will continue to include work for the County Auditor's Office until <br />that office becomes automated. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve staff reassignment <br />of Computer Technician Supervisor to report directly to the Data Processing Manager. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Manny Berg, representing the Fargo Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Board to request the <br />Cass County Commission to become a member of the Fargo Chamber of Commerce at an annual cost of $300.00. <br />Mr. Wieland stated that if other cities make a similar request, the County Commission will need to <br />consider joining their chambers of commerce also. <br />Mrs. Marge Potter from Casselton stated that she is a member of the Economic Development Council of <br />the Greater North Dakota Association, and they are currently putting a lot of emphasis on the survival of <br />small towns. She felt that the County Commission should not support one particular city by joining the <br />Fargo Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Eckert stated that if the County joins any chamber of commerce, there <br />needs to be an exchange of information between the County and that city. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Cass County Commission join the Fargo Chamber <br />of Commerce at a cost of $300.00 for the period of July 1 through June 30, 1987, to be paid from the <br />Promotional Advertising Fund. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. In regard to <br />Mrs. Potter's request that the County join the Casselton Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman instructed her <br />to submit a formal request to the County Auditor's Office to place the item on the Commission's agenda. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to accept the recommendations of Scott Krueger for <br />appointment of the following to the Salary Review Committee: Motion carried. <br />Donna Lays --1 year term <br />Carol Rehder -3 year term <br />Linda Brooks reappointed for 2 year term <br />Rick Lewis -term to be determined <br />Darrel Aasland alternate <br />Donald Rudnick--reappointed for 3 year term <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Vouchers No. 64016 through No. 64,831 be approved <br />and ordered paid. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant approval for the County Social Services <br />Director to hire staff replacement for an Administrative Secretary II. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman be authorized to send a letter to <br />Deborah Sornsin, a former Cass County Court employee, informing her that the records kept in the County <br />Court Office indicate that she does not have additional sick leave compensation coming. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file a letter from R.W. Olsen of Fargo <br />calling the Board's attention to the fine job that Mr. and Mrs. Evert Kopperud are doing on the <br />Springvale Cemetery upkeep; and that copies of the letter be sent to the Kopperuds' and to the members of <br />the Cass County Cemetery Authority. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve out of state travel for Joyce Temenson and <br />Kathy Sudell, County Social Services employees, for a trip to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, on May 29th and <br />30th, respectively. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Wieland appointed Commissioner Jeannette Stanton to represent him on the County Canvassing <br />Board after the June 10th Primary Election. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the County Deed <br />to Leo S. Hlebichuk for the purchase of Lot 4, Block 1, Tintes Holding Company 2nd Addition, City of <br />West Fargo. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the contracts <br />with Meinecke- Johnson Company, Grant's Mechanical and Dakota Electric Construction for the Courthouse <br />north wing remodeling.
