Motion carried unanimously. <br />On motion by Mr. Eckert and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was adjourned. <br />of a new postage machine and <br />unit which holds the postage. <br />16 to Ames Sand and Gravel and <br />Acres Water and Sewer District <br />on for a Raffle Permit for the <br />5, 1985, at the Kindred High <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />SEPTEMBER 17, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to,order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Evert Kopperud reported on maintenance at the Springvale Cemetery. The Commission is <br />extremely pleased with the condition of the cemetery since they began maintaining it. Mr. Kopperud <br />stated that they would like to continue the cemetery care at Springvale, and the Commission asked them to <br />continue for the remainder of 1985 at the same rates as at present and make a proposal to the Commission <br />for 1986. Mr. Sondrall asked for help from the County Road Department to remove an old building and <br />fallen logs at Springvale Cemetery. <br />A public hearing was held on the 1986 County budget. Mr. Palmer Satrom and Mr. C.C. Stevens were <br />present. Mr. Satrom questioned the 3 -mill extra ordinary outlay levy for the north addition to the <br />Courthouse and remodeling of the existing Courthouse. The Commission stated that the levy was approved <br />by vote of the people for the years 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985. Mr. Satrom also questioned <br />the necessity of the recent construction of a new bridge in Rochester Township, but the Commission stated <br />that they followed the advice of the project's engineers and the State Highway Department. The Chairman <br />declared the public hearing closed since there were no further comments on the 1986 budget. <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Wieland-seconded that the following Officer's Reports for August be <br />received and filed: Motion carried. <br />Clerk of Court <br />County Court <br />Register of Deeds <br />Sheriff <br />Veterans Service Office <br />6,916.00 <br />$34,217.46 <br />$13,377.50 <br />$11,538.17 <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to appoint Commissioner Sondrall as the County <br />representative to the North Dakota State Fair Association annual meeting on November 7, 1985, in Minot. <br />Motion carried. <br />Scott Krueger, Administrative Assistant, was contacted by the Clay County Planner regarding a Solid <br />Waste Task Force. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass County Commission commit <br />itself to participating in the solid waste discussions and wish to be notified of their meetings. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that County Court Judge Cynthia Rothe be authorized out <br />of state travel to attend a conference in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 31 through November 1, 1985. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Correspondence was received from Assistant States Attorney James Twomey regarding his request to <br />the North Dakota Association of Counties for partial funding to attend a Seminar for Prosecution of <br />Violent Crime on November 10 -14th in San Francisco. The Commission wishes to be advised on the progress <br />of the request for funding, and that Mr. Twomey obtain permission for out of state travel. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to adopt a policy that any County personnel who travel <br />out of state at County expense or on County time must get permission from the Board of County <br />Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously.
