ATTEST: APPROVED: Ordelle Brua County Auditor Cass County, North Dakota Ray I rs'on, Chairman Cass County Board of Commissioners PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County contract with Mr. and Mrs. Evert Kopperud for the Springvale Cemetery maintenance at $7.00 per hour with them furnishing the equipment, insurance, gas and maintenance supplies but reverting back to $5.00 per hour when they are not using any equipment. Mr. Sondrall questioned who will draw up the contract, and he asked about the County's insurance coverage. The Administrative Assistant presented a letter from the Dawson Insurance Agency stating that Cass County has coverage on the cemeteries in or near Trollwood Park. The name of Springvale Cemetery needs to be included in this. At the call for the question and upon roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The Commission asked Mr. Brenna to supervise the number of hours spent by the caretakers. The Commission discussed future maintenance for the remaining cemeteries at Trollwood Park. Lowell Brenna recommended that the County follow up on the agreements made with the Fargo Park District at the time the Trollwood Park was established. Chairman Larson felt this should be the responsibility of the Cass County Cemetery Authority, and he set a meeting for Tuesday, July 2nd, after the regular Commission meeting. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file the letter from the North Dakota State Highway Department on the status of the contract of the Schultz Construction Company and the R. Halland Construction, Inc. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the letter from Clarence Grieger, Tower City, regarding a drainage problem; and refer the matter to Commissioner Eckert. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioners Wieland and Stanton talked to employees in the Clerk of Court's Office, and one person has agreed to accept the responsibility of acting Clerk of District Court for the period of one month or more, if necessary. Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to appoint Dorothy Howard to serve as acting Clerk of District Court in Cass County from July 1, 1985, until such time as a permanent appointment is made. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. The Commission approved a newspaper advertisement for the Clerk of Court's position. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the Application for a Raffle Permit for the Nora Lutheran Church of Gardner on October 5, 1985. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve payment to Advanced Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in the amount of $33,204.00 for the Juvenile Justice Center boiler, to be paid from the County Emergency Fund. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve four endorsements for additional equipment to the County's insurance coverage at a total additional premium of $340.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Correspondence was received from Bonnie Johnson, Child Support Enforcement Director, enclosing a letter from the North Dakota Human Services Department inquiring about the 1985 budget for this Regional Child Support Enforcement Unit. Cass County has not completed the 1985 budget in the area of salaries for department heads. Therefore, the budget has not been prepared in its final form. An item will be placed on the agenda for next week to finalize the 1985 salaries for department heads. On motion by Mr. Eckert and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned.
