REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />APRIL 16, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the minutes <br />of the previous meeting be approved as corrected. Motion carried. <br />Upon the request of the County Maintenance Department, Mr. <br />Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County purchase a <br />Model 1822 Grasshopper lawn mower /snow remover with attachments for <br />net bid of $5,384.00 with payment to be made after January 1, 1986. <br />Mr. Wieland amended his motion to include also purchasing a <br />double -wide snowmobile trailer for $150.00. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Tom Cameron from Employee Assistance Program Consultants, <br />Inc. appeared to explain their program of helping employees resolve <br />or minimize any personal problem they have that is impacting their <br />job. The cost for such a program would be $1.50 per employee per <br />month plus a cost of approximately $200. 00 as a one -time implementation <br />fee for supervisor training. The Commission requested the County <br />Auditor to provide an accurate number of the County's employees, and <br />Mr. Larson suggested input from the employees as to the need for such <br />a program. <br />Mr. Rudy Radke, County Extension Agent, and Kelly Bergo, <br />Extension Home Economist, appeared before the Board to request a leave <br />of absence for Kelly Bergo to complete a Master Degree in Speech <br />Communications at NDSU. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded <br />that Kelly Bergo be granted a leave of absence from her position as <br />Cass County Home Economist for the period of December 1, 1985 to <br />November 30, 1986; and that she receive a letter from the County to <br />this effect. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The following bids were received for two tandem axle dump trucks <br />for the County Road Department: <br />Red River International <br />W.W. Wallwork <br />Midwest Mack, Inc. <br />Hall GMC, Inc. <br />Peterbilt of Fargo <br />$108,608.00 <br />$106,044.76 <br />$129,040.00 <br />$101,852.00 <br />$121,219.16 <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the above bids <br />be referred to the Road Superintendent for tabulation and <br />recommendation to the Commission next week. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Mr. <br />Kent Zabel to the Cass County Special Assessment Commission for a <br />six -year term to expire in April, 1991.
