Discussion was held <br />on methods of obtaining the weekly legislative report on proposed <br />bills affecting counties. The Commission plans to meet on Saturday, <br />January 19th, and on several Saturdays thereafter to discuss proposed <br />bills. <br />Scott Krueger stated that Richard Moorhead, Architect for the <br />proposed south addition to the Courthouse, requested authorization <br />to hire Houston Engineering to do a site survey at a cost of $1,500.00. <br />The matter was referred to Mr. Wieland for further details. <br />Appointment to the North Cass Water Resource Board was delayed <br />until Mr. Eckert and Mr. Wieland can investigate further. <br />Mr. Jim Thoreson again appeared before the Board representing <br />39 County employees, who are not members of the North Dakota Public <br />Employees Retirement System, requesting that they be allowed to <br />contribute 4 of their salary, to be matched by 4.7571 by the County, <br />to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Deferred Compensation <br />Plan. The Commission previously received a letter from the States <br />Attorney requesting that the NACo Program be considered for all County <br />employees, but Mr. Thoreson suggested allowing the 39 employees to <br />be on the program effective in February, 1985, and to form a committee <br />
