Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to <br />accept the low bid of Jay Davis Chevrolet in the amount of $10.598.00 each for three patrol cars and <br />$10.188.00 for one van. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Committee Reports were given. <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert. the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />DECEMBER 18. 1984 <br /> <br />Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order and upon roll call. all members were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign a request for <br />Federal Aid for a 6-mile project on County Road 5 between Cass and Traill Counties. On roll call vote. <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor be authorized to sign <br />the agreement with the Moore Engineering Company for preliminary engineering services for the bridge <br />project between Sections 24-25. Stanley Township. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondra 11 seconded to reappoi nt George Griffeth to the Communi ty Acti on <br />Agency for another 3-year term to expi re January 1. 1988. On roll call vote. the moti on carri ed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved ~and Mr. Larson seconded to reappoint Joseph Harbeke to the Maple River Water <br />Resource District Tor a 5-year term to expire January 1. 1990. On roll call vote. the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Robert Brodshaug to the Southeast Cass <br />Water Resource District for a 5-year term to expire January 1. 1990. On roll call vote. the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Ken McIntyre to the Rush River Water <br />Resource District for a 5-year term to expire January 1. 1990. On roll call vote. the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reported that R. Joseph Sether is not eligible to be reappointed to the North Cass <br />Water Resource District because he no longer resides in the district. The names of Nils Buringrud and <br />Leonard Richards were submitted for consideration. and the appointment was delayed for two weeks. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton reported that neither Roger Schwinghammer or Patrick Curran wish to be reappointed to <br />the Human Services Board. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to reappoint Jeannette Stanton to the <br />Human Services Board for a 2-year term to expire January 1. 1987; and to delay the other two appointments <br />for two weeks. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Frank Richard as County Surveyor for the <br />year 1985. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Wayne Kyser and Keith Monilaws to the Cass <br />County Park Board for 1985. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Proposals were received from 8 individuals or firms for the position of Public Defender for Cass <br />County for the year 1985. Mr. Wieland reported that after consulting with the two County Court Judges <br />this morning. they suggested that the Commission select three public defenders from a list of four which <br />they recommended. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to reappoint Steve Mottinger. Mark Beauchene <br />and William Kirschner to serve as Public Defenders for Cass County for 1985. On roll call vote. the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize out of state travel for Beverly Bohn. County <br />Social Services employee. to travel to Fergus Falls. Minnesota. on January 14. 1985. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Lambert Hersch was present. represented by Attorney Steve Mottinger. regarding the application <br />for renewal of County beer and liquor licenses for the Club 94 near Cassel ton. Arland Rasmussen from the <br />County Sheriff's Department was also present and stated that there were no violations against the Club 94 <br />during the year 1984. for staying open past the 1:00 A.M. closing law. as was reported last week. Two <br />violations of that nature did occur in 1983. However. there were minors in the bar on the date of <br />November 25. 1984. This matter was discussed with Mr. Hersch's attorney and with the States Attorney's <br />Office. The Sheriff's Department recommends that the license be renewed at this time. Mr. Wieland moved <br />and Mr. Larson seconded to grant the application for renewal of the County beer and liquor license for <br />the Club 94 near Cassel ton for the year 1985. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimouslY. <br />
