'__"'_"~_"'_'_h,._ __ <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />6:~10 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />DECEMBER 11. 1984 <br /> <br />Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order and upon roll call. all members were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Planning Commission. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to grant approval of the Plat of River Oaks Subdivision located in the NW! of Section 1. Stanley <br />Township. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to retain Gem Cleaning Services for janitorial service at <br />the Cass County Courthouse and Annex on a calendar year basis and with a 30-day notice of termination <br />with cause. at a cost of $2.025.00 per month; and that they be hired on a daily basis between now and <br />January 1st subject to a Sheriff's investigation of their employees who will be assigned to the <br />Courthouse and Annex. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Concerning security of County office buildings, the Commission requested the Auditor. the <br />Admi ni strati ve Assi stant and the Buil di ngs and Grounds Supervi sor to determi ne how many keys have been <br />distributed and to be certain that the keys cannot be d~plicated without permission. <br /> <br />Applications were received for renewal of County Beer and Liquor Licenses for 1985. A wr-itten <br />report from the County Sheriff's Department indicated that Lambert and Jeanne Hersch. operators of the <br />Club 94 near Cassel ton. have had a warning in 1984 by the Sheriff's Office in regard to having customers <br />in their establishment after the 1:00 A.M. closing law. The Commission determined not to renew their <br />license this morning. and they requested the Administrative Assistant to make arrangements for them to <br />appear before the Commission next Tuesday. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to renew the fOllowing County Beer and Liquor Licenses <br />for 1985: On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Don & Evelyn Schroeder - Chaffee <br />Ruby Stensrud -Wheatland <br />Oxbow Golf and Country Club - Hickson <br />Hickson Bar &-Lounge. Kopp - Cassel ton (Shamrock Bar) <br />Adams Truck Plaza - 3150-39th Street SW (Barnes Township) <br />Roger J. ~orris - Leonard (Beer Only) <br />Red River Valley Fair Association - Fairgrounds (Beer Only) <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County Auditor be authorized to pay the 1985 <br />dues to the North Dakota Association of Counties in the amount of $10.709.00. The motion carried on roll <br />call vote with three members voting "Aye"; Mr. Larson voting "No" and Mr. Wieland voting "Pass". <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the fOllowing Officer's Reports for <br />November. 1984: Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Clerk of Court <br />County Court <br />Register of Deeds <br />Sheriff <br />Veterans Service Office <br /> <br />$ 5.127.75 <br />$22.292.09 <br />$11.185.00 <br />$ 8.993.24 <br /> <br />The Commission was in agreement to allow Scott Krueger to attend a workshop in Bismarck on <br />February 26th through 28th sponsored by the Bureau of Governmental Affairs. <br /> <br />Bids were opened at 10:00 A.M. for the purchase of three patrol cars ana one van for the Cass <br />County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to refer the following bids to <br />the Sheriff's Department for evaluation and recommendation later this morning. On roll call vote. the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Lieutenant Governor Ernest M. Sands. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded <br />to adopt a Proclamation for National Drunk & Drugged DriVing Awareness Week for the week of <br />December 9-15. 1984.
