'__"'_"~_"'_'_h,._ __ I I 6:~10 REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DECEMBER 11. 1984 Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order and upon roll call. all members were present. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. Upon the recommendation of the County Planning Commission. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant approval of the Plat of River Oaks Subdivision located in the NW! of Section 1. Stanley Township. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to retain Gem Cleaning Services for janitorial service at the Cass County Courthouse and Annex on a calendar year basis and with a 30-day notice of termination with cause. at a cost of $2.025.00 per month; and that they be hired on a daily basis between now and January 1st subject to a Sheriff's investigation of their employees who will be assigned to the Courthouse and Annex. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. Concerning security of County office buildings, the Commission requested the Auditor. the Admi ni strati ve Assi stant and the Buil di ngs and Grounds Supervi sor to determi ne how many keys have been distributed and to be certain that the keys cannot be d~plicated without permission. Applications were received for renewal of County Beer and Liquor Licenses for 1985. A wr-itten report from the County Sheriff's Department indicated that Lambert and Jeanne Hersch. operators of the Club 94 near Cassel ton. have had a warning in 1984 by the Sheriff's Office in regard to having customers in their establishment after the 1:00 A.M. closing law. The Commission determined not to renew their license this morning. and they requested the Administrative Assistant to make arrangements for them to appear before the Commission next Tuesday. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to renew the fOllowing County Beer and Liquor Licenses for 1985: On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. Don & Evelyn Schroeder - Chaffee Ruby Stensrud -Wheatland Oxbow Golf and Country Club - Hickson Hickson Bar &-Lounge. Inc. - Hickson Clinton D. Kopp - Cassel ton (Shamrock Bar) Adams Truck Plaza - 3150-39th Street SW (Barnes Township) Roger J. ~orris - Leonard (Beer Only) Red River Valley Fair Association - Fairgrounds (Beer Only) Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County Auditor be authorized to pay the 1985 dues to the North Dakota Association of Counties in the amount of $10.709.00. The motion carried on roll call vote with three members voting "Aye"; Mr. Larson voting "No" and Mr. Wieland voting "Pass". Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the fOllowing Officer's Reports for November. 1984: Motion carried unanimously. Clerk of Court County Court Register of Deeds Sheriff Veterans Service Office $ 5.127.75 $22.292.09 $11.185.00 $ 8.993.24 The Commission was in agreement to allow Scott Krueger to attend a workshop in Bismarck on February 26th through 28th sponsored by the Bureau of Governmental Affairs. Bids were opened at 10:00 A.M. for the purchase of three patrol cars ana one van for the Cass County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to refer the following bids to the Sheriff's Department for evaluation and recommendation later this morning. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chai rman be authori zed to si gn the necessary documents for K & L Insulation to proceed with the asbestos removal at the Annex. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. Upon the request of Lieutenant Governor Ernest M. Sands. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to adopt a Proclamation for National Drunk & Drugged DriVing Awareness Week for the week of December 9-15. 1984. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously.
