<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to advertise for sealed bids for the sale of County
<br />right of way property near Harwood, the States Attorney, the County Road Superintendent and the
<br />Administrative Assistant to prepare the advertisement for bids excluding easements to be retained for
<br />future County road purposes. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Upon the request of the County Auditor, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to
<br />authorize the voting hours to be from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 P.M. for the townships of Cornell, Gill,
<br />Hill, Howes, Rush River, Tower and Watson beginning with the June 12th Primary Election. On roll
<br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was adjourned.

<br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

<br />Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order with three members present, Mr. Sondrall and Mr.
<br />Larson being absent.
<br />
<br />Mr. Eckert moved' and Mr. Wieland seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be
<br />approved as written. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />The Board convened as the County Board of Tax Equalization. Clarence Miller, County Director
<br />of Tax Equalization, presented information on 1984 assessments on agricultural, commercial and
<br />residential property. The State Board of Tax Equalization notified the County to increase agricultural
<br />land in all townships by 2%, but Clifton Township reduced theirs.
<br />
<br />Upon the recommendation of Clarence Miller, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to
<br />increase the assessments on agricultural land in Clifton Township by 2%. On roll call vote, the motion
<br />carried with all members present voting "Aye".
<br />
<br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to recess the Board of Equalization until 10: 30 A.M.
<br />this morning to see if anyone appears in the meantime. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Scott Krueger, Administrative Assistant, reported that there appears to be more negative
<br />comments than positive ones among County employees on the proposal to change the County office
<br />hours during the summer months. The, Commission determined to retain the present hours of 8: 00
<br />A.M. to 5:00 P.M. '
<br />
<br />Correspondence was received from Bonnie Johnson, Regional Child Support Enforcement Director,
<br />opposing a change in the County's office hours, and also asking the Commission to address the
<br />problem of excessive air conditioning at the Juvenile Justice Center. This matter was referred to
<br />Scott Krueger.
<br />
<br />Further discussion was held on Cass County's attendance at the National Association of Counties
<br />conference in Seattle, Washington, but no action was taken.
<br />
<br />Mr. Jay Reinan, Intern, reported on a comparison between the City of Fargo and Cass County's
<br />Beer and Liquor License fees and policies. The Commission requested him to next compare the
<br />County's licensing with some of the small cities within the County.
<br />
<br />Mr. Reinan also gave the preliminary results of a survey on the County's road conditions, with
<br />final results being ready about the end of this week.
<br />
<br />Ordelle Brua, County Auditor, received a bill from the North Dakota Association of Counties for
<br />membership dues for an 18-month period in the amount of $16,067.00. Upon the suggestion of the
<br />North Dakota Association of Counties, Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the
<br />County Auditor to pay $5,358.00 for dues for a 6-month period with payment of the balance after
<br />January 1, 1985. On roll call vote, the motion carried with all members present voting "Aye".
