Schneider moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to adopt Resolution <br /> ~2n01-7 aa follows: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE <br />WHEREAS, the Board ef Cass County Commissioners has learned of the untimely <br /> death of Ordelle Brua, 821 19th Street North, Moorhead, Minnesota, on <br /> May 2, 2001; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ordelta Brua worked in the Cass County Auditor's Office for 32 years, <br /> having served as the Cass County Auditor for the last seven years of her <br /> employment. She retired in 1991. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cass <br />County, North Dakota, hereby expresses sincere sympathy to the family of Ordelle Brua, <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 7th day of May, 2001. <br /> <br />NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, Proclamation slaned MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wietand seconded to authorize the <br /> chairman to sign the National Night Out Proclamation, as requested <br /> by the West Fargo Chief of Police, Arland Rasmussen, declaring <br /> August 7, 2001, as "National Night Out" in the communities of West <br /> Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Cass and Clay Counties. On roll <br /> call vote, the motion carried unanimously, <br /> <br />JAILSITE, 'onsforexis' ' il <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator/Jail Project Coordinator, outlined the process that was <br />followed in considering the future use of the existing jail site. The architectural firm of Foss <br />Associates presented three options at the April 2,2001, Cass County Commission meeting, and <br />the Board took the information under advisement. A public notice was published in the county's <br />official newspaper, The Forum, on two separate occasions seeking neighborhood and <br />community comment. In response to that, letters were received from Larry Boulger, of Boulger <br />Funeral Home, which is located near the Courthouse property, and from Richard E. Blair, <br />President of KVNJ Television, Fargo. Both of these citizens felt the present jail and the Sheriff's <br />Residence have outlived their usefulness and should be demolished once the new jail is <br />constructed. <br /> <br />Over the past several weeks, Mrs. Johnson and Rick Hoganson, of Foss Associates, reviewed <br />the three options for re-use of the existing jail site with staff from the State Historical Society, <br /> <br /> <br />
