Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Larson moved <br />1rs. Stanton seconded to authorize Mr. Grindberg to hire a replacement for an employee <br />Ls resigning and for an employee who had already resigned. On roll call, the vote <br />Led unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg provided an update on the 2 bridge construction projects, one on <br />County Road 17 and the other on Cass County Road 2, with completion date set for <br />mer. He also said that road construction had been completed on Cass County Road 26. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg stated that the Federal requirements on construction projects for the <br />budget increased from 50% to 65% but only the entire 15% will be absorbed by the <br />:ies that have passed the mill levy. Otherwise, they will receive 7~%., <br /> <br />After reviewing the special assessment guidelines, two changes were made on <br />#3 and Item #5. On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the guidelines <br />adopted. On roll call, the vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A letter was received by Chairman Eckert from Marvin Witt, Fairgrounds Manager, <br />!nding the Cass County Sheriff's Department for a job well done on the concert <br />August 13. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the <br />!r. On roll call, the vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and seconded by Mr. Sondrall to authorize Mr. Eckert, Chairman, <br />-ite a letter to the State Attorney General to accept the menu for the jail and also <br />heat problems had been corrected. On roll call, the vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and seconded by Mr. 'Wieland that Chairman Eckert write a letter <br />Ie Cass County Deputies Association commending them on a job well done on the <br />lification to the entrance to the Sheriff's 9ffice. On roll call, the vote carried <br />_mously. <br /> <br />The following bids were received for asphalt paving, seal coat and related items <br />lImen's Second Subdivision: <br /> <br />F-M Asphalt, Inc. <br />Northern Improvement Company <br /> <br />$88,853.00 <br />$95,524.00 <br /> <br />The following bids were received for seal coat and related items in Holmen's <br />l Subdivision: <br /> <br />F-M Asphalt, Inc. <br />Northern Improvement Company <br /> <br />$ 5,400.00 <br />$ 7,122.50 <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and seconded by Mr. Sondrall to receive and file the above bids <br />'efer them to the County Road Department for tabulation and' recommendation next week. <br />11 call, the vote carried unanimoUSly. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Wieland and seconded by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AUGUST 30, 1983 <br /> <br />Chairman Eckert called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />'proved as corrected, the correction being to change one word on the guidelines <br />led last week for the creation of special assessment districts. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Larson moved <br />Irs. Stanton seconded that he be authorized to spend up to $6,000.00 for the purchase <br />used truck and to trade in a 1967 International truck. On roll call vote, the motion <br />oed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg reported on a letter from Henry Wisness of the State Highway Department <br />'ding Federal Aid funds on County Road 26 from State Highway 18 to Interstate 29. <br />, has been a change in specifications which would require the County to re-grade <br />portion of County Road 26 before re-surfacing it if the County is to receive Federal Aid <br />,e project. Mr. Grindberg will be meeting with the State Highway Department to obtain <br />_al cost analysis for re-grading. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I 'Rd.
