Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to accept the base bid of Gateway Gateway Builders IBuilders in the amount of $39,200.00 for a County shop building, and that Mr. Steve for Co. Shop IGrindberg be authorized to eliminate any portion of the alternate bids that would lower bldg. at Davenporqthe cost of the building. The motion carried on roll call vote with Mrs. Stanton, Mrs. lMr. Eckert and Mr. Hendrickson voting "Aye" and Mr. Larson opposing. i Comm. to adv. fori Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County Commission advertise for bids for Hosp, ibids for County employees' hospitalization insurance on the same basis as the present insurance I coverage, with alternate bids being requested on a policy with up to $300.00 deductible. I Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign the resolutio !accepting the low bid of Wanzek Construction Company in the amount of $224,322.50 for iFederal Aid Project BRO 9(8) for bridge replacement near Horace. Electric Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to grant a utility permit to bury iCass County Electric, Inc. for installing underground power cable across County Road 34 lin Arthur Township. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. I NOVEMBER 23, 1982 Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. Cass Co. auth. to cable Juvenile Det. I Lt. Walt willis from the County Sheriff's Department appeared at the Board's request Center opeartion to discuss the inspection of the Juvenile Detention Center which was made by the office discussed of the Attorney General. He stated that there were no major problems, and he answered questions that the Board had regarding the operation of the Center. Solid iCass County Solid Waste Hauling Permit as prepared by the States Attorney and the Waste Hauling ,'county Sanitarian, this being effective at the time of renewal of the County license Permit apprvd. beginning July 1., 1983. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Upon the recommendation of Architect Irv Holman, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Larson seconded to accept the low bid.of Mehl's Insulation in the amount of $15,950.00 Courthouse attic insulation. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Raffle permit granted i Letter from Clay! A letter was received from the Clay County Board of Commissioners attaching a copy County Commisso [of a resolution adopted by their Board acknowledging Cass County's support in Clay County's re: hazardous !efforts to bring legal action against the proposed hazardous waste disposal site at waste disposal I Downer, Minnesota, which has since been abandoned as a possible site by the Minnesota I Waste Management Board. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and I file the correspondence. Motion carried. i Upon the request of the County Sheriff's Department, Mr. Hendrickson moved and jMr. Larson seconded that the Sheriff be authorized to proceed with plans for using the I County's computer system for certain records from his department, at a cost of approximately i $150.00 per month. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. I NACo financial i The Auditor received a letter from the National Association of Counties regarding difficulty disc. i their financial difficulty due to a large over-run on construction expenses for their and Comm. agreeslnew headquarters. The letter stated that there will be an increase in the 1983 to pay a serviceimembership fees plus a one-time service fee amounting to $454.50 for Cass County. fee plus increas~They hope to arrange to have this service fee offset in future dues as the financial ed dues for '83 i situation allows. It was the consensus of the Commission that the National Association l'Of Co~nties is a,powerful organization, especially in pursuing legislation of direct ,benef~t to count~es. Mrs. Stanton moved and ~lr. Eckert seconded to pay the service fee .1. of $454.50 and the increased dues to the National Association of Counties. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
