On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton asked Mr. Hoy how many hours the one part-time Assistant States <br />Attorney works for the County and on what basis he is paid. Mr. Larson moved and <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Hoy be requested to ob.tain a schedule of hours from <br />'the part-time Assistant States Attorney, Mervin Nordeng. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AUGUST 17, 1982 <br /> <br />Vice Chairman Eckert called the meeting to order and three members were present, <br />'Mrs.. Wold and Mr. Larson being absent. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minute& of the previous <br />meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Hendrickson <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant utility permits to Cass County Electric to bury <br />cables on County Road 17 in the SW~ of Section 8, Stanley Township, and on County Road 81 <br />in the SE~ of Section 33, Harwood Township. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />At this time, Mr. Larson arrived. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Vice Chairman be authorized <br />to sign a form received by the County Road Superintendent from the State Highway Department. <br />This form is a set of standards and guidelines to go by regarding county roads and bridges <br />in case of a disaster. On roll call vot~, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />At this time, discussion was held regarding the County Shop at Davenport. <br />Mr. Grindberg suggested that this item be put on the agenda in a couple of weeks <br />after all the insurance estimates have-been received. <br /> <br />Mr. Ken McIntyre from the Cass County Historical Society appeared before the Board <br />requesting that the area by the east gate of Bonanzaville and a strip to connect the <br />fairgrounds and the new airplane museum be paved before Pioneer Days begin to aid the <br />handicapped. Steve Grindberg stated that this whole project would cost about $6,000.00. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that if the County Auditor reviewed the <br />budget and found an account with which this project could be paid out of, then it could <br />be done. If there was only enough money to do part of the project, then the east gate <br />area be paved first. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />At this time, Mr. Harold Flint requested the Board to review the draft of the <br />newspaper insert for promoting the proposed excess levy. <br /> <br />A hearing was held on the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes <br />submitted by Lowell and Carolyn Siebels with Mr. Siebels being present for the hearing. <br />Upon the recommendation by the County Director of Tax Equalization; Mr. Hendrickson <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the abatement be denied as the value is uniform <br />and equitable in regards to other property in the same assessment district. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously with Mrs. Stanton being absent for <br />the vote. <br /> <br />A hearing was held on the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes <br />submitted by Lake Elmo Hardwood Lumber, inc. with Mr. John Houge, Manager, being present <br />for the hearing. Upon the recommendation by the County Director of Tax Equalization <br />and Fargo City Assessor, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that this <br />abatement be denied as the assessment value is not excessive in relation to other <br />comparable property in the area. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Director of Tax Equalization, Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes <br />submitted by William A. Larson be approved as submitted. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Director of Tax Equalization, Mrs. Stanton <br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Application for Abatement and Settlement of Taxes <br />submitted by Minnie and Ralph Scilley be approved because of an error made in <br />total acreage.
