A letter was received from Mrs. Kathy LaFleur of Harwood regarding procedures for <br />ihandling animals to be tested for rabies, as 'her son was bitten by an animal which was <br />I erroneously disposed of before the proper rabies test could be performed. Mrs. Stanton <br />imoved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file the letter from Mrs. LaFleur, <br />! and request someone from the County Sheriff's Department and from the Valley Veterinary <br />I Service to appear before the Board next week to discuss the matter. On roll call vote, <br />I the motion carried unanimously. <br />! <br />Co. requests , Mr. Harold E. Flint appeared at the Board's request to discuss means of gathering <br />Mr. Harold Flint 1 information for the purpose of informing the residents of Cass County of the need for <br />to assist with i an excess mill levy for a two year period to help meet the deficit in the County's <br />advertising for ! present operating budget. A special election on the excess mill levy will be held <br />the special elec-! on the date of August 31, 1982, and the Commission asked Mr. Flint to proceed in much <br />tion to promote ! the same way as when the County hired him to promote the additional mill levy for <br />the prop. excess l construction of the Courthouse Addition. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Sheriff Dept. Agency I <br />as recommended! In view of the above recommendation and the past experience with the County's <br />by County's I present insurance company, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the <br />insurance advisoJ bid for County insurance to the Dawson-Watson Insurance Company at an annual premium <br />i of $52,219.00, this being effective August,l, 1982. Services <br />Dept. req. <br />permission to <br />replace one <br />employee who <br />resigning <br /> <br />Due to the Board of Commissioners recent freeze on hiring additional employees <br />and rehiring of County employees when someone has resigned, Mr. Alvin Johnson appeared <br />before the Board on behalf of Torn Jensen, County Social Services Director, to request <br />permission to replace a filing clerk who is resigning. He stated that there is only <br />one filing clerk on the staff and the workload is more than one person can handle <br />so other staff members help with the work, but they could not absorb the entire amount <br />of filing into their work schedules. <br />
