A letter was received from Mrs. Kathy LaFleur of Harwood regarding procedures for ihandling animals to be tested for rabies, as 'her son was bitten by an animal which was I erroneously disposed of before the proper rabies test could be performed. Mrs. Stanton imoved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file the letter from Mrs. LaFleur, ! and request someone from the County Sheriff's Department and from the Valley Veterinary I Service to appear before the Board next week to discuss the matter. On roll call vote, I the motion carried unanimously. ! Co. requests , Mr. Harold E. Flint appeared at the Board's request to discuss means of gathering Mr. Harold Flint 1 information for the purpose of informing the residents of Cass County of the need for to assist with i an excess mill levy for a two year period to help meet the deficit in the County's advertising for ! present operating budget. A special election on the excess mill levy will be held the special elec-! on the date of August 31, 1982, and the Commission asked Mr. Flint to proceed in much tion to promote ! the same way as when the County hired him to promote the additional mill levy for the prop. excess l construction of the Courthouse Addition. North Dakota Fire and Tornado Fund Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive, file and refer the insurance ! bids to Mr. Robert Rust, Insurance Advisor, for his evaluation and recommendation; i and that a special meeting of the Board of Cass County Commissioners be held on I'Thursday, July 29, 1982, at 9:15 A.M. for the purpose of awarding the bid for the i purchase of insurance. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Sheriff Dept. In view of the above recommendation and the past experience with the County's by County's I present insurance company, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the insurance advisoJ bid for County insurance to the Dawson-Watson Insurance Company at an annual premium i of $52,219.00, this being effective August,l, 1982. On roll call vote, the motion I carried unanimously. I I , I I is : I I I I i ! i i I i Mr. Bob Rust presented a letter to the Commission recommending that the bid for County insurance be awarded to the Dawson-Watson Insurance Agency, Inc. for the reasons stated in his letter. Mr. Hendrickson had to leave at this time to attend another meeting. Soc. Services Dept. req. permission to replace one employee who resigning Due to the Board of Commissioners recent freeze on hiring additional employees and rehiring of County employees when someone has resigned, Mr. Alvin Johnson appeared before the Board on behalf of Torn Jensen, County Social Services Director, to request permission to replace a filing clerk who is resigning. He stated that there is only one filing clerk on the staff and the workload is more than one person can handle so other staff members help with the work, but they could not absorb the entire amount of filing into their work schedules.
