Dec. 31 <br />at a cost of <br />$500.00 <br /> <br />Contractor to be i <br />hired for explor~ <br />ation work in . <br />,Cthse. bell <br />tower <br /> <br />Arch. to proceed <br />with Phase III <br />of Cthse. prjct. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant the application for a dance <br />permit for the West Fargo Jayceettes to hold a public dance in the Commercial Building <br />, at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds on the date of September 25, 1982. On roll call <br />i vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant a special permit to Patsy <br />Herrmann of Wheatland, North Dakota, to sell beer at the Absaraka Centennial on the date <br />of June 26, 1982, at the location of Roy Faught's machinery shed located in Absaraka. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Auditor received a letter from Tom's Office Machilines of Wahpeton stating that <br />there will be a factory increase effective July 1st on the court reporting equipment <br />which they quoted to the County for $6,000.00 on the date of February 16, 1982. <br />The Board placed the matter on the agenda for June 29th and several persons will be <br />asked to attend. <br /> <br />A public hearing was held at 10:00 A.M. for the purpose of having local citizens <br />and groups present written or verbal comments on how they think the Entitlement Period <br />13 and 14 Federal Revenue Sharing Funds should be spent. No one appeared and no written <br />comments were received. <br /> <br />Mr. Eugene Stock from Casselton appeared before the Board with an application for <br />a 1982 County beer and liquor license. He is purchasing the Shamrock Bar which is <br />located in Section 2, Everest Township, and he also submitted a letter signed by <br />two members of the Everest Township Board of Supervisors approving the change in ownership. <br /> <br />Mr. Stock requested the County Commission to pro-rate the $1,000 beer and liquor <br />license fee for his operation for the remainder of the year. After discussion, <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a County Beer and Liquor License <br />in Everest Township to Eugene Stock for $500.00 for the period of June 15th through <br />December 31, 1982. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Architects Richard Moorhead and Irv Holmen appeared before the Board outlining <br />plans for Phase III of the Courthouse project. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton <br />seconded to authorize the Architect to spend $1,000-$1,500 for the purpose of hiring a <br />contractor to do exploration in the Courthouse bell tower to determine the extent <br />of restoration needed. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the architectural firm of <br />Clark, Holmen and Moorhead be directed'to proceed with Cass County Courthouse Phase III <br />as outlined by them this morning. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JUNE 22, 1982 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />!be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />'NW Bell Telephone! Upon the recommendation of the County Road Superintendent, Mr. Larson moved and <br />granted utility iMr. .Eckert seconded to grant a utility permit to the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company <br />permit Ito bury cable on County Road 22 in Sections 1-12 and Sections 6-7, Raymond and Reed <br />rTownships. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Bridge replace- Mrs. Robert Cossette of Hickson presented a petition regarding the bridge replacement <br />ment in Sec.9-l6,' in Sections 9-16, Pleasant Township, signed by five landowners whom she stated would be most <br />Pleasant Twp. affected by the Board's decision to replace the bridge. A letter was received from <br />again disc. Robert Askegard, who was a petition signer, stating that he was unable to attend the <br />Commission meeting this morning. Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, and <br />Bob Muscha from the Houston Engineering Company were present. Mr. Grindberg stated that <br />the culvert has been ordered and will be installed in about two weeks. No further action <br />was taken by the Board. Commissioner Larson suggested that the situation be monitored <br />very closely once the culvert is installed. <br />
