Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the bid for the Forest River paving project to the Northern Improvement Company in the amount of $122,00.0.00 as presented by the Engineer, and authorize the Chairman and the County Auditor to sign the Resolution Accepting Bid, Showing Receipt of Engineer's Statement of Estimated Cost and Directing Execution of Contract, a copy of which is on file in the office of the ,County Auditor. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. i , Regarding a vacancy on the Board of Directors of the Cass County Housing Authority, :Mr. Larson stated that there will be an annual meeting of the Housing Authority on !April 7th and he suggested that anyone interested in being appointed to this Board : should be present at the annual meeting. The County Commission will delay action on i the appointment until after the annual meeting. ! DES Director to i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Gordon.Sletmoe, Disaster purchase sandbags' Emergency Services Director, be authorized to purhcase an initial order of 10,000 sandbags I to prepare for possible flooding this spring, and to purchase as many more as are necessary. IOn roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. ! Open House disc. , The Board discussed the date of May 7th for an open house in the Cass County icourthouse Addition. Supt. of Schools Reports for Feb. On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MARCH 30, 1982 Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and four members were present, Mr. Hendrickson being absent. Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. The Auditor read a letter from the State Highway Department in response to the County's letter regarding abandonment of the State's Secondary Roads Division. The letter stated that they did not intend to diminish the role of the department but to make it a more efficient public service organization. A letter was received from Mr. Paul M. Carlson of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at the North Dakota State University requesting the County's permission to conduct a keg roll, similar to a walk-a-thon, along County frighway #81 within Cass County. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass County Commission authorizes the above organization to conduct its fund-raising activity on County Highway #81 within Cass County, subject to the same conditions as stated by the North Dakota State Highway Department in the copy of their letter of January 26, 1982, granting approval for use of State Highways for this event which is scheduled for the dates of April 22-24, 1982. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the salary for Deborah Korsmo, County Superintendent of Schools, be set at $21,520.00., the annual base salary for a full-time superintendent according to State law. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Rush River Water Resource District North Cass Water Resource District Maple River Water Resource District Southeast Cass Water Resource District Cass County Veterans Service Partial payment, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County Auditor be authorized apprvd. on contrct to pay the Steffen's Office Equipment Company $17,830.31 as partial payment on their for office furn. contract for office furnishings in the Courthouse Addition. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Raffle permit granted to Chaffee Embden Softball Team Raffle permit granted to F-M ,Mounted Posse Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a permit to the Chaffee-Embden Softball Team to hold a raffle on the date of May 12, 1982, at the Chaffee Baseball Field. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a permit to the F-M Mounted Posse, Inc. to hold a raffle on the date of September 26, 1982, at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
