N..:.}l.,_ iij;ll!! <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the bid for the Forest River <br />paving project to the Northern Improvement Company in the amount of $122,00.0.00 <br />as presented by the Engineer, and authorize the Chairman and the County Auditor to sign <br />the Resolution Accepting Bid, Showing Receipt of Engineer's Statement of Estimated Cost <br />and Directing Execution of Contract, a copy of which is on file in the office of the <br />,County Auditor. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />i <br />, <br /> <br />Regarding a vacancy on the Board of Directors of the Cass County Housing Authority, <br />:Mr. Larson stated that there will be an annual meeting of the Housing Authority on <br />!April 7th and he suggested that anyone interested in being appointed to this Board <br />: should be present at the annual meeting. The County Commission will delay action on <br />i the appointment until after the annual meeting. <br />! <br />DES Director to i Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Gordon.Sletmoe, Disaster <br />purchase sandbags' Emergency Services Director, be authorized to purhcase an initial order of 10,000 sandbags <br />I to prepare for possible flooding this spring, and to purchase as many more as are necessary. <br />IOn roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />! <br />Open House disc. , The Board discussed the date of May 7th for an open house in the Cass County <br />icourthouse Addition. <br /> <br />I Committee reports were given. <br />I <br /> <br />St. Highway Dept. <br />letter re: Secon- <br />dary Roads Div. <br /> <br />. <br />Co. grants per- <br /> <br />mission for NDSU <br /> <br />Fraternity to <br /> <br />conduct fund- <br /> <br />raising event <br /> <br />on Co. road <br /> <br />Salary adjusted <br />for Co. Supt. of <br />Schools <br /> <br />Reports for Feb. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 30, 1982 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and four members were present, <br />Mr. Hendrickson being absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous <br />meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Auditor read a letter from the State Highway Department in response to the <br />County's letter regarding abandonment of the State's Secondary Roads Division. <br />The letter stated that they did not intend to diminish the role of the department <br />but to make it a more efficient public service organization. <br /> <br />A letter was received from Mr. Paul M. Carlson of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity <br />at the North Dakota State University requesting the County's permission to conduct <br />a keg roll, similar to a walk-a-thon, along County frighway #81 within Cass County. <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass County Commission authorizes <br />the above organization to conduct its fund-raising activity on County Highway #81 <br />within Cass County, subject to the same conditions as stated by the North Dakota <br />State Highway Department in the copy of their letter of January 26, 1982, granting <br />approval for use of State Highways for this event which is scheduled for the dates <br />of April 22-24, 1982. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimoUSly. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the salary for Deborah Korsmo, <br />County Superintendent of Schools, be set at $21,520.00., the annual base salary <br />for a full-time superintendent according to State law. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the following reports for February <br />be received and filed: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimoUSly. <br /> <br />Rush River Water Resource District <br />North Cass Water Resource District <br />Maple River Water Resource District <br />Southeast Cass Water Resource District <br />Cass County Veterans Service <br /> <br />Partial payment, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County Auditor be authorized <br />apprvd. on contrct to pay the Steffen's Office Equipment Company $17,830.31 as partial payment on their <br />for office furn. contract for office furnishings in the Courthouse Addition. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Raffle permit <br />granted to Chaffee <br />Embden Softball <br />Team <br />Raffle permit <br />granted to F-M <br />,Mounted Posse <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a permit to the Chaffee-Embden <br />Softball Team to hold a raffle on the date of May 12, 1982, at the Chaffee Baseball <br />Field. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant a permit to the F-M Mounted <br />Posse, Inc. to hold a raffle on the date of September 26, 1982, at the Red River Valley <br />Fairgrounds. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
