Mr. Grindberg stated <br />that it will be too late for him to change the wording on his signs this year. <br />In the future, Mr. Eckert suggested adopting the wording used by Barnes County which <br />states the number of tons per axle and the speed limit. Mr. Larson suggested that <br />the Sheriff be asked to attend the Commission meeting next week to discuss strict <br />enforcement of load limits when they are put into effect by the highway department. <br /> <br />- Correspondence was referred to the County Road Superintendent regarding hearings <br />to be held by the North Cass Water Resource District on March 22nd in West Fargo <br />;concerning proposed drainage in the ditches along County Road 26 in Gardner Township. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Road Superintendent, Mr. Larson moved and <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded to award the bid received March 9th for a used backhoe for the <br />Road Department to Ford Tractor of Fargo, Inc. in the amount of $22,000.00. On 1011 <br />call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Arnold Larson from Fargo Township appeared in response to the Board's discussion <br />last week on the State law relating to the procedure for dissolving a township. <br />Mr. Larson stated that there are nine voting members in Fargo Township and they wish <br />to maintain their own identity as a township. Mrs. Stanton stated that according 'to <br />State law, the County Commission cannot initiate any action to dissolve a township <br />unless they had a population of five or less. <br /> <br />The application for a dance permit at the Fairgrounds which was received on <br />March 2nd will be returned for the reason that a permit is not necessary since it will <br />not be a public dance. The States Attorney reported that he has revised the applica- <br />tion form to include a question on whether the dance will be public or private. <br />If it is private, a permit is not required. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file the Indemnity Bond <br />on Lost Instrument for Walburg Township, and authorize the County Auditor to issue <br />a duplicate check. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Correspondence was read and committee reports were given. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Eckert~seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 23, 1982 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to <br />sign the approval for Brian D. Barker of Gardner to drain water along the County Road 26 <br />road ditch in Section 33, Kinyon Township. On roll ca~l vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of Mr. Grindberg, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton <br />seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the approval for Gregory Barker <br />to drain water along the County Road 26 road ditch in S~ction 4, Gardner Township. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg stated that spring road restrictions will be placed on County roads <br />beginning at midnight tonight. The Board discussed enforcement of load limits with the <br />Sheriff's Oepartment, who has a portable weigh scale~ <br /> <br />Deborah Korsmo appeared before the Board to report on her position as <br />County Superintendent of Schools. She reported her activities beginning from the date <br />she was first appointed by the County Commission, and she is recommending that the <br />office be considered a full-time position.
