Mr. Miller will be attending a meeting in Hillsboro tomorrow <br />with those area County Tax Directors and whatever policy they propose will be presented <br />to the Board next Wednesday. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive <br />.and file the letter from Pembina County and not take any action pending further study. <br />iOn rol~ call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded to receive and file the following <br />tMonthly Reports for June,. 1981: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Rush River Water Management District <br />North Cass Water Management District <br />Maple River Water Management District <br />Southeast Cass Water Management District <br />Cass County Veterans Service <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Board issue an "Unfavorable Review" <br />or. the Metropolitan Council of Government's A-95 Review Form for comprehensive employment <br />training project by the North Dakota Rural Development Corporation for the reason' <br />they feel the project is unnecessary and involves a considerable amount of money. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file the letter from <br />'Mr. Wesley Ecker of Grandin expressing strong opposition to a land tax for the <br />Fargo Airport. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded to receive and file the <br />from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a permit pending for the U.S. <br />'Wildlife Service for fill material associated with the construction of <br />and nesting areas. Hendrickson, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AUGUST 5, 1981 <br /> <br />Chairman Hendrickson called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members <br />I were present. <br /> <br />An Invocation was given by the Chairman. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Regarding the appointments made last Wednesday to the newly formed Cass County <br />Weed Control Board, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to establish the terms <br />on said Board as follows, and that Don Eckert be appointed temporary Chairman: <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Don Eckert--two year term to expire July 1, 1983 <br />Irvine Dietrich and John Hoag--three year terms to expire July 1, 1984 <br />Chuck Anderson and Laurence Barfuss--four year terms to expire July 1, 1985 <br /> <br />The Sheriff employee's union attorney again appeared before the Board regarding <br />the wage and benefit contract for the year 1981-1982. He submitted a letter to the <br />Commission'stating that the Sheriff's employees are withdrawing four of the five <br />proposed changes, but they are requesting the Board to grant them pay for working <br />holidays at the rate of time and one-half instead of receiving compensatory time. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to defer any action on this request until <br />the Board can investigate other departments of the County that may be working on a <br />holiday also.
