'_____._....n_.. .__. <br />-------------.-.-- <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Application for Abatement <br />submitted by Phyllis Anderson and Beula Dale be approved as submitted. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Commission accept the advice <br />of District Court Judge Norman Backes for the County to pay 25% of the cost of the <br />Public Defender contract with the firm of Kraemer and Associates for a period of one year <br />from the date of July 15, 1981. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Commission accept the advice <br />of Judge Backes to pay 25% of the cost of the Conflict Attorney contracts with <br />Attorneys Edward Murphy and Bruce Britton for a period of 6 months from the date of <br />July 15, 1981. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the following Monthly Reports <br />for April be received and filed: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Rush River Water Management District <br />North Cass Water Management District <br />Maple River Water Management District <br />Southeast Cass Water Management District <br />Cass County Veterans Service <br /> <br />Carol Siegert from the office of the County Superintendent of Schools reported <br />on the duties and responsibilities of that office. She stated that this office is a <br />liason between the State Department of Public Instruction and the local school districts <br />in Cass County. Mrs. Stanton stated that in talking with State Legislators and <br />other counties in the State, she feels the duties of the County Superintendent of Schools <br />have diminished, and she questions whether this needs to be a full time position any more. <br />Mrs. Siegert informed the Board that the State Superintendent of Public Instruction <br />will be utilizing the County Superintendent's offices to do more of their work. <br /> <br />A letter was received from Dr. Pat Beatty, President of the Red River Valley <br />Mental Health Association regrading collocation of Area Soci~l Service Agencies <br />and Mental Health Centers. They questioned why the County Social Services Agency <br />is not planning to be a part of this -collocation. The letter stated that the Mental <br />Health Association is encouraging cooperation between agencies and accessibility of <br />services. Mrs. Wold stated that since the County owns the building where the <br />County Social Services is located, sh~ could not see the point in renting space <br />in order to collocate. Also, she stated that the County is making improvements at <br />-the Annex to make it more accessible to the handicapped. Mrs. Wold moved and <br />Mrs. Stanton seconded that this letter be received, filed and referred to Tom Jensen, <br />County Social Services Director. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that Vouchers No. 16564 through No. 17074 <br />'and Revenue Sharing Voucher No. 257 be approved and ordered paid. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JUNE 24, 1981 <br /> <br />Chairman Hendrickson called the meeting to order and upon roll call, four members <br />were present with Mrs. Wold being absent. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />,be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Chairman read a letter received from the North Dakota Suppliers Association <br />requesting a list of all the firms or companies Cass County does business with <br />so they may solicit these firms for contributions to help fund the North Dakota <br />County Commissioners Convention. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the <br />Board does not comply with this request. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Auditor submitted a notice of a meeting which the Commissioners were to set up <br />the date, time and place. The purpose of this meeting is to take names for appointments <br />for a Cass County Weed Control Board. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that <br />this meeting be held July 15, 1981, at 1:30 P.M. in the Commission Room in the Cass County <br />Courthouse.
