"Unfavorable Review" on these two A-95 Review Forms from the Metropolitan Council <br />iof Governments inVOlving grant requests by the Community Action Agency because the <br />iCounty,Commission feels it involves far too much money and because there are local sources <br />!,"and means for dispersing information on energy conservation. On 'roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Committee Reports were given. <br /> <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />1 <br />I <br />! <br />t <br /> <br />I.m <br />! <br />l <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mr. Larson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MARCH 18, 1981 <br /> <br />Vice Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, four members <br />present with Mr. Hendrickson being absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />!be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />i <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Discussion continued from last Wednesday on hiring a welfare fraud investigator. <br />[Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, felt that there are instances in which <br />ithey could use such an investigator if the Board sees fit to hire one. He suggested <br />!maybe a special person would be more beneficial to the States Attorney's office <br />ito get a situation through the Courts. <br />I <br />! <br />i <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Commission appropriate $3,000.00 <br />on a 90-day program and work with the States Attorney, the Sheriff and Tom Jensen; <br />the money to be paid from the County Contingency Fund. Sheriff Rudnick stated that he can <br />rearrange his deputies' schedules so that an investigator can be assigned to the <br />States Attorney's Office for the purpose of investigating welfare fra,ud. At the call <br />of the question, the motion carried on roll call vote with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that' the' Commission approve the Application <br />for a Gambling Permit for the Northland Chapter-National Multiple Sclerosis Society <br />for the period beginning April 1, 1981, through June 30, 1981, at The Watering Hole <br />in Wild Rice, North Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Out of state Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that County Court Judge Donald Cooke <br />travel auth. for :be authorized out of state travel to attend a school on Law of Evidence in Florida <br />Co. Court Judge during the week of March 21-28, 1981. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Annual Report of <br />Historical Soc. <br /> <br />, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Board receive and file the <br />:Annual Report of the Cass County Historical Society and commend Mr. Ken McIntyre again <br />: for the tremendous work he does at Bonanzaville. Motion carried. <br /> <br />i be <br />I <br />Rd. Supt. reported Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, reported on a problem of culverts <br />on problem of along County roads being filled with blow dirt due to the dry weather condition. <br />dirt in the Co. He stated that the Road Department has cleaned some County road ditches in the past, <br />road ditches but he does not feel this is fair because many landowners clean the ditches along their <br />property themselves. The Board discussed the possibility of assessing the owner for <br />the cost of the County cleaning ditches. The Auditor will discuss the matter with the <br />States Attorney, and it will be discussed again next week. <br />
