Chm. for 1981 Appt. of Vice Chm. delayed Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the questionnaire from the North Dakota State Library indicating that Cass County does not wish to pursue the matter of establishing a public library service in the County. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Hendrickson informed the Board that he will be contacting Thompson Roofing Company to repair a leak in the roof on the Juvenile Justice ,Center which is causing a water problem inside the building. Mr. Ken Umbehocker appeared before the Board to report on the results of the Bad Check Seminars which are being conducted about twice a month in the Courthouse through the County Court system. He stated that in the past 12 months, there have been only 6 persons that are second offenders of writing bad checks. Karen Campbell made a proposal to the Board for renting office space to the County Extension Department in the former ASCS Office in West Fargo. Mrs. Wold stated that the Board determined to delay action on relocating the Extension Office until the next budget session, but they will keep this space in mind. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the Board receive and file the letter from ROy Brooks, sales representative for Butler Machinery Company, thanking the Board for their business over the past years upon his retirement. 'Motion carried. Mrs. Wold moved aQd Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the following Monthly Reports for November be received and filed: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Hoehn - County Auditor Cass County, North Dakota ~~~~ $iC~ Jeannette Stanton, Chairman Cass County Board of Commissioners REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS JANUARY 6, 1981 (TUESDAY) District Court Judge Norman Backes administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Commissioners Donald Eckert and Ray Larson and to Jeannette Stanton, who was re-elected to the Board. Mrs. Stanton called the meeting to order and four members were present, Mrs. Wold being absent. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting of December 31, 1980, be approved as written. Motion carried. An Invocation was given by Mrs. Stanton. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Mr. Hendrickson be nominated as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners for 1981. Mr. Ecke'rt moved that the nominations cease and a unanimous ballot be cast for Mr. Hendrickson. Motion carried. Mr. Hendrickson moved that Mrs. Wold be nominated as Vice Chairman for 1981. However, since she was not present this morning, the matter will be postponed until she can be consulted; and the appointment will be placed on the agenda for January 7th.
