<br />Upon. the recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Satrom
<br />moved and Mr~ Hendrickson seconded that the weight regulations on County Roads not be
<br />increased to 80,000 pounds as requested by the American Crystal Sugar Beet Plant
<br />at Hillsboro. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Regarding bridge repair in Everest 'Township which was brought to the Board's
<br />attention last week, Mr. Grindberg reviewed the bridge petitions and three of the four
<br />locations will be repaired next week.

<br />Discussion was held on hiring an engineering firm for the County Road 22 bridge iDisc. on hiring
<br />west of Harwood. Last week the Board rescinded their action to hire the Erickson Engineering: Eng. firm for
<br />Company, since they are not licensed to practice engineering in the State of North Dakota. IC22 bridge--Bd.

<br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the County hire the Moore
<br />Company, who submitted the next lowest proposal for engineering services on the
<br />County Road 22 bridge. Discussion continued in which Mr. Don Richards from the Erickson
<br />Engineering Company stated that they would withdraw their proposal since they have not
<br />yet received the necessary registration from the State of North Dakota. At the call
<br />of the question, the motion carried on roll call vote with all members voting "Aye".

<br />Discussion was again held on the appointment of Mrs. Fred Hector as rural
<br />representation on the Fargo Planning Commission.

<br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the

<br />Upon the request of Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, Mrs. Wold moved
<br />and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Commission send a letter to the Governor of North Dakota
<br />supporting the County Social Service Board's executive budget. On roll call vote,
<br />the motion carried with Mr. Satrom opposing.

<br />Upon the request of Attorney Dan Twichell, Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom
<br />seconded that the Board grant authorization to the Southeast Cass Water Management
<br />District to proceed with the sale of bonds for the purpose of financing the Oxbow
<br />Country Club and Estates water and sewer'project, at no expense to the County or the
<br />Southeast Cass Water Management District. On roll call vote, the motion carried
<br />with Mrs. Stanton opposing.

<br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Dr. D. H. Lawrence be appointed
<br />Acting Coroner from January 1, 1981, to July 1, 1981; and that Dr. Michael P. Hurley
<br />of Fargo be appointed as Deputy Coroner from January 1, 1981, to July 1, 1981.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Wold moved .and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that a gambling permit be issued
<br />to the Red River Valley Roping Club to hold a raffle on December 5, 1980, at the
<br />Watering Hole in wild Rice, North Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion carried
<br />unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Auditor be authorized to pay
<br />the bill to J. E. Krieg and Sons in the amount of $12,000.00 for repairs to the
<br />jail chimney. On roll call vote, the motion carried ~nanimously.
<br />
<br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Auditor be authorized to pay
<br />estimate #1 to R & 0 Elevator Company in the amount of $4,500 for work on the
<br />elevator shaft in the Courthouse Addition. On roll call vote, the motion carried
<br />unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Board receive and file
<br />the Indemnity Bonds on Lost Instrument for Brent Jenkins and Maxine Hudson, and authorize
<br />the Auditor to issue duplicate checks. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
