<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />~Q'j! <br />:.J", .! ..1 <br /> <br />._~N'.?~~':~~~~~~G~:':'~~~.o~~.:..:.~~~E~!l~~,=..;==~~,",-,-,-,::=,~~~,-___ <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AUGUST 20, 1980 <br /> <br />Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members <br />,were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be 'approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Several road matters were discussed with Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent. <br />He stated that there are three projects which can be repaired with flood money and they <br />must be completed within a month. Therefore, the repair of the bridge between <br />Sections 35-36, Barnes Township, on 25th Street South extended will be started in about <br />one month after these flood projects are completed. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall and the <br />paving the road at Woods. <br />road construction program <br />of budget funds. <br /> <br />County Road Superintendent received telephone calls regarding <br />Mr. Grindberg stated that the project was on the proposed <br />for this year, but it cannot be done now with the lack <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Board grant a "Favorable Review" <br />'on the Metropolitan Council of Governments A-95 Review for the Southeastern North Dakota <br />Community Action Agency for solar equipment .design and distribution. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried with Mr. Satrom opposing. <br /> <br />Attorney Mike Miller appeared before the Board representing the Fargo Jaycees, whereby <br />they are requesting a permit from the Board of County Commissioners to sell beer at the <br />NDSU Agricultural Farm near Casselton for one day on August 28, 1980. The States Attbrney <br />read from the North Dakota Century Code stating that the local governing body of the city <br />or county, this being the Cass County Commission in this instance, and the Attorney General <br />may by a special permit grant approval for a license for up to three days. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the County Commission authorize <br />the issuance of a permit to the Fargo Jaycees for one day to sell beer at the NDSU <br />Agricultural Farm near Casselton in 'Everest Township on August 28, 1980, at a cost of <br />$10.00 for the permit; provided that the Fargo Jaycees obtain approval from the <br />North Dakota State University and from the State Attorney General's Office. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. _ <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved. and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the gambling permit for the National <br />Multiple Sclerosis Society-Northland Chapter be renewed on a quarterly basis for the period <br />of August 25, 1980, through December 31, 1980, at the~~~tering Hole in Wild Rice, <br />North Dakota. On roll call vote, the motion carried ~animously. <br /> <br />Architect Irv Holman appeared before the Board to discuss the repair of the chimney <br />which is attached to the Jail. He stated that it would cost approximately $10,000 more to <br />restore the present stone at the top of the chimney if the Commission were interested <br />in maintaining the historic value, than it would cost to rep~r it with a similar color <br />of brick. Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Commission agrees with the <br />decision of the Buildings and Grounds Committee, Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Hendrickson, <br />to repair the Jail chimney with bricks.
