<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />5883 <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />OCTOBER 29, 1979 <br /> <br />The recessed meeting of October 24th, was recalled to order at 8:00 o'clock A.M., <br />29th. Upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />The Board proceeded to interview the applicants for the County Judge position. After <br />all interviews were heard, several votes were taken and the list of candidates was reduced <br />to three. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Donald Cooke be nominated for <br />the position of County Judge. The motion carried on a roll call vote with Mrs. Wold opposing <br /> <br />Donald Cooke appt <br />as Co. Judge <br />beginning Oct. <br />31, 1979. <br /> <br />Donald Cooke was duly elected as the new County Judge. Mr. Cooke will be sworn in as <br />the County Judge at the regular meeting of the County Commission on October 31, 1979. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Mr. Sondrall and second by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />OCTOBER 31, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present~ <br />l <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting; <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. i <br />I <br />Upon the recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Sondrall INW Bell--utility <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the utility permits !permits signed NW <br />with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to bury cable northwest of West Fargo at the junctio~ of W. Fgo. at <br />of County Road 8 and County Road 17, and north of Mapleton under County Road 11. The motion iC17 & C8,& N of <br />carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". IMapleton on Cll. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg reported that he was notified by the Bureau of Reclamation that they would;Rd.Dept.-employee <br />like to hold a class on CPR for the empl~yees at the County Shop at a cost of about $40. lat Shop to take <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Grindberg be authorized to hold this class;CPR class. <br />at the County Shop. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". ; <br /> <br />Mr. Everet Walkinshaw appeared before the Board to request the Board's permission to <br />build a ring dike around his farm buildings five miles west of Argusville near County Road <br />11. Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Mr. Walkinshaw be authorized to use <br />County Road 11 as an east boundary for such a dike. Represen- iFuel Crisis Comm. <br />tatives from the Salvation Army and the Red Cross were present to explain how the funds will i--action on req. <br />be used and answer any questions. Mr. Tom Jensen, Social Services Director, was also present:delayed until <br />and stated his support for the Fuel Crisis Committee. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton,Nov. 7th. <br />seconded that action on the request for funds be delayed until Wednesday, November 7th. The <br />motion carried on a roll call vote with Mr. Sondrall and Mrs. Wold opposing. <br /> <br />At this time Mr. Donald J. Cooke was officially sworn in as the Cass County Judge by <br />District JUdge Norman Backes. <br /> <br />iCo. Judge sworn <br />:in. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Jensen, Social Services Director, appeared before the Board to request additiona~oc. Services Dir. <br />spending authority of funds for the Nokomis Day Care Center which are 100% reimbursed by :--auth. additiona] <br />Federal Funds. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that Mr. Jensen be authorized ad- spending author. <br />ditional spending authority through December 31, 1979. The motion carried on a roll call for Nokomis Day <br />vote with all members voting "Aye". Care Center. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Indemnity Bond on Lost lnstrument <br />for Winnie Stanhope be received and filed and the Auditor be authorized to issue a duplicate <br />warrant.
