Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the resignation of Judge <br />October 31, 1979.IMcGuire as County Judge be accepted effective October 31, 1979. Motion carried. <br /> <br />At this time Mrs. Stanton and Mrs. wold were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Marshall Moore of Moore Engineering appeared before the Board on behalf of the City <br />:of Argusville to request a permit from the County to use dirt from the entrance road off of <br />!old Highway 81 to build a ring dike around Argusville; and to use old Highway 81 as an east <br />Iboundary for this dike. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that such a permit <br />Ibe issued to the City of Argusville. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members <br />voting "Aye". <br /> <br />! Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs <br />iStanton seconded that Mr. Grindberg be authorized to apply for Federal Aid to pave County <br />IRoad 6 from Intersta,te 29 to County Road 17. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all <br />/members voting "Aye"'. <br />i <br /> <br />I Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the contract with Sherman, Inc. for a <br />Idrop structure in Section 6 of Stanley Township which will be 100% reimbursed by Federal <br />IFlood Disaster be approved. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting <br />~ llAyefl. <br />I <br />i <br />i A letter was received from Mr. Harry Grage of Hunter regarding installing' a culvert <br />iunder County Road 2 near the Hunter Cemetery. Upon discussion, Mr. Hendrickson moved and <br />iMr. Sondrall seconded that this culvert be installed diagonally under County Road 2. The <br />!motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson stated that he has been contacted several times by Mr. Watts regarding <br />repositioning of a culvert west of Chaffee on County Road 6 which was installed some time <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the position of this culvert re- <br />as it is. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". <br /> <br />ithe <br />lago. <br />maln <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Thomas Jensen, Social Services Director, appeared before the Board to discuss the <br />need of additional office space. Mr. Jensen suggested adding one or two floors to the presen' <br />annex building with the possibility of the Southeast Mental Health and Retardation Center <br />eventually being in the same facility. <br /> <br />Mr. Jensen also discussed programs set up through the City of Fargo for providing funds <br />for fuel and utilities for needy families in the Community. Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton <br />seconded that a letter be sent to the City requesting information on these programs. The <br />motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Rev. Emery Roy, representing the Board of Social Services, appeared before the Board to <br />request permission for out of state travel. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded <br />that Mr. Tom Jensen be authorized to attend a Management Training Seminar for Public Welfare <br />Administration for four weeks beginning November 4, 1979 for one week a month at various <br />locations. The motion carried on a roll call vote with Mr. Satrom and Mrs. Stanton opposing. <br /> <br />Judge Norman Backes appeared before the Board to discuss needed office space for Distric' <br />Court. Judge Backes suggested that the States Attorney's Office be moved to temporary <br />quarters out of the Courthouse and also move the Director of Tax Equalization from the third <br />floor into the present offices of the States Attorney which would leave the third floor for <br />the District Court. Upon discussion, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that a com- <br />mittee be set up of the department heads most interested in the space problem. The motion <br />carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". <br />
