Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Wold seconded <br />that the Board meet with Mr. Gunkelman and with all of the County's Department Heads <br />to see if the space would be feasible. In discussion, it was mentioned that several <br />Department Heads have viewed the space and there was no positive reaction from them. <br />Upon roll call vote, the motion failed with only Mr. Sondrall voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Commission advise the firm of <br />Schlossman and Gunkelman that the County will not be renting office space in the former <br />Blue Cross-Blue Shield building. The motion carried on a roll call vote with <br />Mr. Sondrall opposing. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Vouchers No. 62,489 through No. 62,810 <br />be approved and ordered paid. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members <br />voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Cass County Commission enter into <br />contract with the law firm of Ramlo, Anderson and Associates for the delivery of <br />legal services under the Public Defender System. Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson <br />seconded that the County pay $320.00 to Rochester Township for grasshopper spraying. <br />The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members yoting "Aye". <br /> <br />Out of State Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that Tom Jensen, Social Services Director, <br />travel auth. for be authorized out of state travel to Washington, D.C. on July 22-27, 1979. <br />Soc. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Lion's Club gambling permit <br />at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds be amended to include the sale of pulltabs at the <br />Beer Gardens during the fair. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members <br />voting "Aye". <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Hendrickson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JULY 18, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The County Road Superintendent was not present, but he recommended to Mr. Hendrickson <br />that bids be readvertised for trucks for the Road Department. Mr. Hendrickson stated <br />that the bid from Red River International could not be considered because it did not contain <br />a bid bond at the time of the opening, and he felt the lease-purchase bid from W. W. Wallwork <br />was excessive. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the County reject <br />the bid of W. W. Wallwork for trucks for the County Road Department, and that the <br />Road Department readvertise for trucks. A representative was present from Red River <br />International and suggested that the Commission consider advertising for bids on the basis <br />of a conditional sales contract rather than the lease-purhcase option to avoid paying <br />Federal excise tax. The Commission requested the States Attorney to investigate whether <br />the County can legally enter into a conditional sales contract. The motion to reject and <br />readvertise for bids carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". <br />
