Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />:Release of <br />Isecuri ties. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JUNE 27, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be <br />approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion continued on the bridge in Section 23, Noble Township. Steve Grindberg, County Bridge Petition-- <br />.Road Superintendent, stated that he could not find any record of this bridge being built by disc. on Noble <br />the County or ever maintined by the County other than after the flood of 1975, the County re- :Twp. bridge. <br />paired the bridge but with Federal flood funds. The States Attorney was present and gave the iPostponed for <br />opinion that this bridge is on a private road but the Board of County Commissioners may make furthur research. <br />an agreement with the landowner to repair the bridge and charge him for the work. Bruce <br />Carlson, Attorney for Alden Rensvold, again mentioned Mr. Rensvold's right to ingress and <br />egress to his property, and the States Attorney will check into this matter. Mr. Hendrickson <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County Board postpone action for further research <br />and that Mr. Carlson and Mr. Rensvold appear before the North Cass Water Management Board as <br />was mentioned. Motion carried. <br /> <br />i <br />j <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County Road Superintendent be Icampsite at <br />authorized to go ahead with diking in the area of the County Park Board's new campsite at the iFairgrounds. <br />Red River Valley Fairgrounds when he has the time to do it. Motion carried. i <br /> <br />Concerning appointment to the Cass County Drain Board for the term of Clarence Discher !Drain Board <br />which expires July 1st, Milton Holmen representing the Lower Sheyenne Study Group of the appointment. <br />Corps of Engineers, Alan Dipple representing West Fargo and Howard Emerson of the Southeast <br />Cass Water Management Board were present requesting that the County appoint Robert Meyer of <br />West Fargo in order to get representation from their area on the Drain Board. Mr. Hendrickson <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Robert Meyer be nominated for appointment to the i <br />Cass County Drain Board. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the nominations <br />cease and that a unanimous ballot be cast for Mr. Meyer. The motion carried on a roll call <br />vote with Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Satrom opposing. <br /> <br />Discussion was held with Mr. Irv Rustad from the Lake Agassiz Regional Council concernin~Planning <br />the applications received for the position ofa full-time County Planner. The Board deter- :Coordinator for <br />mined to schedule interviews with the applicants on July 11th beginning at 1:30 P.M. :County. <br />! <br />!Special Ed Board <br />iappointments <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. Wold moved and <br />Mr. Sondrall seconded that James Kroshus be reappointed to the County Special Education <br />Board and that Mr. Leland Ham be appointed to replace Mrs. Rita Traynor who does not wish to <br />serve again, the terms being for one year since the 1979 legislature mandates school districts <br />to handle their own special education by July 1, 1980, and the County Special Education Board' <br />will be dissolved by that date. Motion carried. <br />i <br />The County Superintendent of Schools again asked the Board about additional office space !Supt. of Schools-. <br />at the Annex for the Special Education Department which she will be handling for one year. :Disc. on office <br />The Board asked Mr. Jensen, County Social Services Director, to also appear and discussion space. <br />was held on what alternatives there would be. The Board asked them to compromise on Mrs. <br />Mikula using the large conference room for the Special Education Department, in conjunction <br />with the Social Services and the County Extension Agent when they need to use the room. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the following Monthly Reports for AprilMonthly reports <br />and May be received and filed: Motion carried. filed. <br /> <br />Rush River Water Management District <br />North Cass Water Management District <br />Maple River Water Management District <br />Southeast Cass Water Management District <br />Cass County Veterans Service <br /> <br />Upon the request of County Judge Michael McGuire, Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton !JUdge granted <br />seconded that the Board grant Judge McGuire a 10% salary increase for the month of June,1979, jsalary increase. <br />to bring him in line with the discretionary pay increases that the other county officials <br />received.
