<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />Discussion was held with Vijay Sethi from the Metropolitan Council of Governments <br />'and with Irv Rustad from the Lake Agassiz Regional Council regarding the County hiring <br />a full-time Planning Coordinator. Mr. Sethi felt the County should hire someone with <br />three to four years of experience and that the salary should be about $18,000 per year <br />plus fringe benefits and travel expense. Mr. Rustad reported that he talked to the Mayor <br />of West Fargo and their City Planner about the County utilizing their services, but they <br />feel he has a, full-time job as City planner for West Fargo. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and ,Mr. Hendrickson seconded that a full-time County Planner <br />be-advertised for, the salary to be negotiated at budget time. Mrs. Wold suggested <br />a pay range of $16,000-$18,,000 depending upon the person's number of years of experience. <br />At the call of the question, the motion carried on a roll call vote with Mr. Satrom dissenting, <br />i <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />the Grant Award and Acceptance from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council for the <br />Summer :Intern Program for the States Attorney's Office. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Board receive and file the <br />petitions from the South Acres Association requesting the County to assume the local share <br />of the cost of construction of a 4-lane road from 32nd Avenue South in Fargo south to <br />County Road 6. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the request of the Clerk of District Court, Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson <br />seconded that June Gondek be appointed as Deputy Clerk for the Juvenile Supervisor and <br />Referee, effective June 1, 1979. Motion carried. ' <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Board receive and file <br />the budget request in the amount of $3,000.00 for Alcohol Outreach, Inc. as presented <br />by Mattie Baumgartner. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Representatives were present from the Fargo Senior Commission on Aging and from the <br />Cass County Council on Aging to discuss the division of the County tax levy money and the <br />State matching funds. Fargo Mayor Jon Lindgren was present and requested that $45,000.00 <br />from Fargo's allocation of the funds be used to provide cost-free bus service to the <br />'senior citizens in the City of Fargo. The Auditor asked the two organizations to submit <br />their budgets to the County Commission in June. With both parties being in agreement, <br />Mrs. 'Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the tax mill levy and the matching funds <br />from the. State for the next fiscal year be divided in half between the Fargo Senior <br />Commission on Aging and the Cass County Cquncil on Aging. Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Wold and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MAY 30, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous <br />meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Stanton moved and <br />Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the utility permit for <br />Cass County Electric to bury cable under County Road 26 and County Road 3 east of Page <br />and under County Road 10 east of Mapleton. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman be authorized <br />to sign the agreement with Cass County Electric for moving utility poles and burying <br />cable for the County road project through the village of St. Benedict between <br />County Road 14 and County Road 16, at an estimated cost to the County of $5,969.00. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />the agreement with the State Historical Society that the County Road Department will <br />notify them if they find anything that might be of interest to the Historical Society <br />while working on the County Road 20 project.
