"'.".__n. _.._... ., <br />.----...... <br /> <br />I <br />i The Board asked the County Social Services Director to consider reducing the <br />inumber of members on the County Social Service Board from 9 to 7 members, and Mrs. Wold <br />i suggested that the matter be brought up at a Social Service Board meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Irvin Rustad presented copies of the Quarterly Report of the Lake Agassiz <br />I Regional Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad stated that one of the recommendations in the Land Use Plan which the County <br />adopted was to hire a Planning Coordinator, and he stated that this person should be <br />located in a County office building at some future date but the Lake Agassiz Council <br />could provide the space and secretarial services for the time being. He stated that there <br />is about $11,000.00 available in Federal funds for this project for the first year. <br />Mr. Rustad also stated that the County might consider contracting for such services <br />through Lake Agassiz or through the Metropolitan Council of Governments, and the Board <br />asked that Mr. Rustad prepare a cost estimate on the County contracting with his office. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mrs. Wold, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MAY 16, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Shff. to apply Upon the request of the Sheriff, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that <br />for 2 siren units Mr. Rudnick be authorized to make application to the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council <br />for 2 siren units _for ~he patrol cars, at a cost to the County of $94.00. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Resignation of The Auditor read a letter from Roy Scheffler resigning from the position of <br />Weed Contr. Auth. County Weed Control Officer. <br /> <br />City of Cassel ton <br />req. asst. for <br />centennial <br />celebration <br /> <br />Disc. on hiring <br />Land Use Coord. <br /> <br />Letter from Atty. <br />General re: <br />severed mineral <br />rights <br /> <br />Grant Award from <br />LEC for camera <br />equip. for Jail <br /> <br />Grant Award from <br />LEC for exercise <br />equip. for Jail <br /> <br />A letter was received from the City of Casselton regarding their 100th year <br />celebration to be held on June 28th through July 1st. They requested assistance <br />from the County in the area of policing and traffic control and also asked if the County <br />would have about 3,000' of snow fencing to block off areas of the city to comply with <br />insurance requirements. Mr. Sondrall will discuss the fencing with the County Road <br />Department, and the letter will be referred to the Sheriff's Office regarding the <br />irequest for policing. <br />i <br /> <br />Mr. Irv Rustad from the Lake Agassiz Regional Coun~il presented a proposal <br />for the County to contract for the services of a Land Use Coordinator through his office <br />or the Metropolitan Council of Governments at a proposed budget of $22,000.00, and there <br />are about $11,000.00 of Federal funds available this year. Mr. Hendrickson suggested <br />the possibility of the County obtaining such services from Charles Durrenberger <br />along with his duties as City Planner for the City of West Fargo. Mr. Rustad stated <br />that he will discuss this with Mr. Durrenberger and report back to the Board. <br /> <br />The Auditor received a letter from North Dakota Attorney General Allen Olson <br />and from the State Tax Commissioner Byron Dorgan reminding counties of Section 57-02-25 <br />of the North Dakota Centruy Code, which points out the duties of County Auditors <br />to establish an assessment list on severed mineral rights. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />MAY 23, 1979 <br /> <br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />~e approved as written. Motion carried. <br />I <br />I Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />Ithe Grant Award and Acceptance from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council for <br />lexercise equipment for the Jail. Motion carried. <br />
