<br />(Convention in Boston, Massachusettes, on April 5-7, 1979. Motion carried.

<br />Disc. on colloca-i The Board discussed collocation of health agencies with the County Social Services
<br />tion of health iDirector. Mr. Jensen felt that the new legislation does not directly affect the
<br />agencies and how iCounty Social Services, but it is required for the State Social Services and mental health
<br />it involves the !agencies. He did state that though it is not required for counties, it is being urged
<br />Co. Social Servo Ithat the counties join in the collocation.

<br />Audit Report of: Mr. Ken McIntyre presented the Audit Report of the Cass County Historical Society.
<br />Historical Soc. iThe Board commended Mr. McIntyre and also his wife for their efforts and dedication
<br />'and the long hours they spend at Bonanzaville.

<br />Cass County Land , The Board again discussed the Cass County Land Use Plan which was drafted by the
<br />Use Plan adopted !special Land Use Committee with the assistance of the Lake Agassiz Regional Council
<br />as recommended iand the Metropolitan Council of Governments. The plan was amended and approved
<br />by Co. Planning iby the Cass County Planning Commission on March 14, 1979, with a recommendation that
<br />Commission, whichlthe County Commission adopt the plan as amended and that they consider hiring a
<br />includes hiring !County Planner. The Auditor read a letter from the Fargo Planning Commission indicating
<br />a County Planner.ltheir support of the proposed Cass County Land Use Plan.
<br />Lake Agassiz I
<br />will assist with; Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Cass County Commission adopt
<br />office space and !the Land Use Plan as recommended by the Cass County Planning Commission, which includes
<br />secretarial ser~ Iconsidering hiring a County Planner. Discussion continued and Tom Jentz from
<br />& Metro. Cncl. iLake Agassiz stated that the County Planner is being recommended on a trial basis for
<br />will assist fina~one or two years, and he stated that the Metropolitan Council of Governments has offered
<br />cially with the ito assist with the salary and Lake Agassiz could offer space and secretarial services
<br />salary ifor this person. Objections were voiced by Ralph Cameron and by Ken McIntyre.
<br />!Mr. Satrom suggested that the County Commission delay their vote on the Land Use Plan
<br />luntil after the annua~ meeting of the Township Officer's Association on March 29th.
<br />iHowever, Mrs. Stan,ton stated that many area-wide meetings were held over the past year
<br />ithroughout the County in order to get citizen in-put. At the call of the question,
<br />fthe motion carried with Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Satrom opposing.

<br />Roy Scheffler ' Walt Ness, County Extension Agent, informed the Board that Frank Erdman does not wish
<br />apptd. Co. Weed ito continue as County Weed Control Officer. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall
<br />Control Officer--iseconded that Roy Scheffler be appointed County Weed Control Officer. Motion carried.

<br />weed spraying !be authorized to call for informal bids for weed spraying chemicals for 1979.

<br />apptd. to Co. [that Mrs. Duane Moderow of Buffalo was appointed to-the-County Social Services Board
<br />Soc. Servo Bd. !to fill the unexpired term caused by the death of Mrs. Mary Pierce.

<br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the County Auditor be authorized
<br />Ito pay the next two payrolls for the County Road Department from the Emergency Fund
<br />Ibecause of the high costs of snow removal this winter. Motion carried.

<br />Appl. for gambling Mr. Burnell Beilke from Buffalo submitted an application for a gambling permit
<br />permit for :for the Buffalo Wildlife Club to be held at the Fireside Lounge outside of Buffalo.
<br />Buffalo Wildlife ~The Board questioned the application since it requests the permit for every
<br />Club postponed iFriday and Saturday night for one year, and the Board denied a similar application previously
<br />one week since itlMr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the application for a gambling permit
<br />is to be held in for the Buffalo Wildlife Club be postponed one week in order to confer with the
<br />Fireside Lounge IStates Attorney. Motion carried.
