We have ordered the necessary software and <br />now need to install that software. <br /> <br />We have ordered 137 licenses for the XP Operating systems, 189 <br />licenses tbr the XP Professional Advantage, 39 licenses for the full <br />licenses for XP Professional, and 56 licenses for Word Perfect. We <br />will also be ordering memory for 93 computers that will need additional <br />memory to operate the new software. <br /> <br />] have asked tbr a proposal from the North Dakota Association of <br />Counties to install the new software and melnory on the compaters. My <br />reasoning on asking them to submit a proposal is two fold. First, our <br />staffwould not have the time to get all the software installed this year. <br />Second, working side by side with the staff from the Association of <br />Counties would be a valuable learning experience for our computer <br />stafi~ <br /> <br />The costs projected by the Association of Counties are based on three <br />hours per machine at $53 per hour. The proposal also includes <br />additional time for planning the installations to disrupt county staffthe <br />least amount of time. Some of the installations will most likely take <br />place on weekends to minimize staffdisruptions. Total costs for the <br />softxvare installation is expected to be $24,000 and the cost for the <br />memory upgrades to be $4,000.
