<br />APPENDIX A <br />PAGE 1 OF 2 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR PARTICIPATION <br />IN THE NORTH DAKOTA <br />IDGHWAY SAFETY PLAN <br /> <br />PROJECT NO: PHSP4020502 SP ,!g Ph 09 <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />The purpose of this contract is to provide funding to the Cass County Sheriff's Office for the <br />purchase of one radar unit. The radar unit is to be used for enforcing speed limits in Cass County. <br />Funds will reimburse the Cass County Sheriff's Office for 75% of the cost, not to exceed $1,500 per <br />unit. Individual equipment costs more than $2,000 per unit 'must be paid by the local agency and <br />should be reported as local match. <br /> <br />An emphasis must be placed on safety belt and speed enforcement. An evaluation report on safety <br />belt and speed citations issued by using this radar unit must be submitted to the Traffic Safety <br />Office, North Dakota Department of Transportation, 608 East Boulevard Avenue, Bismarck, ND <br />58505-0700. <br /> <br />The report is due on October 30, 2005, and must include speed citations, safety belt citations, and <br />related citations from the first day of the month following the date of this contract, through <br />September 30, 2005. Information and statistics regarding citations must be retained for up to a year <br />after the purchase of the unit for further evaluation. The reimbursement voucher is due no later than <br />60 days after the end of the month in which expenses occurred. If documentation is not submitted to <br />the Traffic Safety Office by November 14,2005, payment will be denied. Supporting documentation <br />must be retained in accordance with audit guidelines. <br /> <br />The radar unit purchased must be certified and included in the IACP Consumer Product List. The <br />purchased unit must meet or exceed NHTSAlIACP model specifications. <br /> <br />The Cass County Sheriff's Office will be responsible for ordering and installing equipment. Control <br />over and maintenance of equipment purchased with traffic safety funds will be the direct responsibility <br />of the eass County Sheriff's Office. Any equipment purchases required to be maintained on <br />equipment inventory should be available for inspection. <br />
