<br />Commission Minutes-April 15, 2002 2434 <br /> <br />10. FARGO-CASS COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, Appoint commissioner to skills <br />__ development community advisorv committee <br />As a part of the Fargo Cass County Economic Development Corporation grant agreement <br />for the pilot skills development program, Mr. Wagner said the Cass County Commission is <br />being asked to appoint a representative to the community advisory committee. Mr. Wieland <br />said he is aware that Mr. Wagner is willing to serve in that capacity. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to appoint Scott <br />Wagner from the Cass County Commission to serve on the Fargo Cass <br />County Economic Development pilot skills development program <br />community advisory committee. Mr. Wagner said he would report to the <br />commission on the committee's activities. Motion carried. <br /> <br />11. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />162,613 through No. 163,156. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />12. NORTH DAKOTA INSURANCE RESERVE FUND; STATE'S ATTORNEY UPDATE; <br />INFORMATION SERVICES REPORT; BUDGET PREPARATIONS; SUBDIVISION <br />REVIEW COMMITTEE AND COUNTY 17 SPEED LIMIT; NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF <br />COUNTIES CONVENTION, Committee reports <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said Cass County received a $66,000 check from the <br />North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund as reimbursement based on premium payments and <br />keeping claim costs low. <br /> <br />Mark Boening, Assistant Cass County State's Attorney, attended today's meeting on behalf <br />of State's Attorney Birch Burdick, who is attending a training conference. <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, reported that operations in the Information Services <br />Department are going well after those duties were temporarily assigned to him. Some <br />backlogged projects are being completed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider asked when department heads would make a recommendation on the cost <br />of living adjustment for budget purposes, and Mr. Montplaisir said a recommendation should <br />be made by mid-June. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland said the subdivision review committee is still meeting. County Engineer Keith <br />Berndt was present and said the next meeting is scheduled for early May. Mr. Wieland said <br />a request will be made to the State's Attorney's Office about lowering the speed limit on <br />Cass County Highway 17. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said the deadline is approaching for submitting registrations for the National <br />Association of Counties Convention in New Orleans on July 12-16, 2002. Mr. Wieland said <br />he will be attending the conference and asked if anyone else is interested. Both <br />Commissioners Wagner and Sorum are interested in attending the national convention. <br />
