FARGO-CASS COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, Appoint commissioner to skills __ development community advisorv committee As a part of the Fargo Cass County Economic Development Corporation grant agreement for the pilot skills development program, Mr. Wagner said the Cass County Commission is being asked to appoint a representative to the community advisory committee. Mr. Wieland said he is aware that Mr. Wagner is willing to serve in that capacity. MOTION, passed Mrs. Sorum moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to appoint Scott Wagner from the Cass County Commission to serve on the Fargo Cass County Economic Development pilot skills development program community advisory committee. Mr. Wagner said he would report to the commission on the committee's activities. Motion carried. 11. VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher No. 162,613 through No. 163,156. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. - 12. NORTH DAKOTA INSURANCE RESERVE FUND; STATE'S ATTORNEY UPDATE; INFORMATION SERVICES REPORT; BUDGET PREPARATIONS; SUBDIVISION REVIEW COMMITTEE AND COUNTY 17 SPEED LIMIT; NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES CONVENTION, Committee reports Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said Cass County received a $66,000 check from the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund as reimbursement based on premium payments and keeping claim costs low. Mark Boening, Assistant Cass County State's Attorney, attended today's meeting on behalf of State's Attorney Birch Burdick, who is attending a training conference. Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, reported that operations in the Information Services Department are going well after those duties were temporarily assigned to him. Some backlogged projects are being completed. Mrs. Schneider asked when department heads would make a recommendation on the cost of living adjustment for budget purposes, and Mr. Montplaisir said a recommendation should be made by mid-June. Mr. Wieland said the subdivision review committee is still meeting. County Engineer Keith Berndt was present and said the next meeting is scheduled for early May. Mr. Wieland said a request will be made to the State's Attorney's Office about lowering the speed limit on Cass County Highway 17. -- Mr. Wagner said the deadline is approaching for submitting registrations for the National Association of Counties Convention in New Orleans on July 12-16, 2002. Mr. Wieland said he will be attending the conference and asked if anyone else is interested. Both Commissioners Wagner and Sorum are interested in attending the national convention.
