The Uniform Judicial Court Act defines the unruly child as "habitually disobedient of the
reasonable and lawful commands of the parent guardian, or other custodian and is ungovernable ". Youthworks
provides case management and a comprehensive package of services to keep unruly youth at home and in the
custody of their parents. These services include assessment, crisis intervention, emergency shelter care,
individual counseling, brief family therapy, peer support, support groups, after-school supervision & tutoring,
the KEYS (teaches decision making), anger management, and Merchant Accountability (shoplifting education
and restitution). Often, Youthworks can provide a "one-stop" package of services for the unruly adolescent.
Attendant care, crisis beds, psychiatric placement and other services supplement the core services provided by
Youthworks. The aforementioned services, managed by an experienced social worker, have proven effective in
rnaint~inlno~ youth in their homes and in the community
Proposed Funding Period: October 1, 2002 to September 31, 2003
Indicate those descriptors applicable to the proposed project (Indicate 5 or fewer)

[]01 Aftercare ~21 Education - Other []41 Probation Services
E02 Alcohol - Prevention E22 Electronic Monitoring [~42 Prosecutor Services
E03 Alcohol -Treatment [323 Employment E43 Recreation
E04 A~bitrationfMcdiation E24 Evaluation - Diagnostic E44 Research
[]0S CaE Management []25 Evaluation -Program []45 Residential Community Prog.
E06 Child Abuse and Neglect E26 Evening Report Centers []46 Residential Noncommunity Prog.
~07 Court Appointed Advocate E27 Family Counseling E47 Rest dution/Community Service
E08 Court Intake Services E28 Foster Care []48 Risk Assessment: DesignJUse
[]09 Crisis Intervention []29 Health Servicca E49 School Crime
E 10 Day Treatment Centers [3 30 Holdover []50 Serious-Violent-Chronic Offenders
[] I I DefcnMer Services ~31 Homemaker Services ~$1 Service Coordination
[] 12 I~tcntion-Home [] 32 Litigation []52 Sex Offenders Programs
[] 13 Detention-Nonsecure Residential ~33 Mentor []53 Standards
E 14 Dat~ntion - Secure Residential []34 Outreach G54 Systems Coordination
{215 Diversion - Court ~ 35 Parent Training ~ 55 Training- Juv.
