Mrs. Sorum expressed her agreement. '"' Mr. Wieland said he would be happy if someone could use the sheriff's residence, however, it would need to be moved to someone else's property. Ms. Berg asked if it would be possible to tour the jail and sheriff's residence. Mr. Wieland asked Jim Thoreson, a Sheriff's Deputy who was present today, to arrange a tour for this group of five or six people. 16. DEPARTMENT HEADS, Performance aooraisal form Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, provided background information on the activities of a committee, which he chaired, relating to department head performance evaluations. The committee was formed as one of the results of the strategic planning session held last December between commissioners and department heads. Mr. Burdick was a member of the committee and said he believes it is worth trying for a year to see what kind of feedback the commission receives. A draft form was provided to commissioners after it was reviewed and revised by county department heads at their group meeting held last Thursday. The evaluation form should be completed by each commissioner for all county appointed officials, however, it does not apply to elected officials since they are evaluated by the county's electorate. Mrs. Schneider asked if the evaluation process would take place on the department heads' anniversary date or if it would be based on the calendar year. Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator and member of the performance evaluation committee, said the evaluation should coincide with the department head's anniversary date. _ MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the department head evaluation form and procedures effective April 1, 2002, as outlined in a letter from Mr. Montplaisirdated March 28, 2002, for appointed officials, absent any other existing process; and to schedule a review of the procedures and the form next April 1 st. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 17. VOUCHERS, Aooroved MOTION, passed Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher No. 162,278 through No. 162,612. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 18. MEETING UPDATES; GOVDOCS; ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SURVEY; REGIONAL CHILD SUPPORT TESTIMONY; METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, Committee reoorts Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming meetings. Bonnie Johnson informed commissioners that a representative of the govdocs delivery system will be here Wednesday to train county departments on keeping the website updated ,--- Mrs. Sorum said the rural economic development group is $1,300 away from meeting their goal of $5,000 to conduct a survey through NDSU.
