<br />Commission Minutes--April 1, 2002 2429 <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said she is interested in hearing any creative ideas this group comes up with <br />until such time as the buildings are actually demolished. Mrs. Sorum expressed her agreement. <br />'"' Mr. Wieland said he would be happy if someone could use the sheriff's residence, however, it <br />would need to be moved to someone else's property. <br /> <br />Ms. Berg asked if it would be possible to tour the jail and sheriff's residence. Mr. Wieland asked <br />Jim Thoreson, a Sheriff's Deputy who was present today, to arrange a tour for this group of five <br />or six people. <br /> <br />16. DEPARTMENT HEADS, Performance aooraisal form <br />Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, provided background information on the activities of a <br />committee, which he chaired, relating to department head performance evaluations. The <br />committee was formed as one of the results of the strategic planning session held last <br />December between commissioners and department heads. Mr. Burdick was a member of the <br />committee and said he believes it is worth trying for a year to see what kind of feedback the <br />commission receives. A draft form was provided to commissioners after it was reviewed and <br />revised by county department heads at their group meeting held last Thursday. The evaluation <br />form should be completed by each commissioner for all county appointed officials, however, it <br />does not apply to elected officials since they are evaluated by the county's electorate. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider asked if the evaluation process would take place on the department heads' <br />anniversary date or if it would be based on the calendar year. Bonnie Johnson, County <br />Coordinator and member of the performance evaluation committee, said the evaluation should <br />coincide with the department head's anniversary date. <br />_ MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the <br />department head evaluation form and procedures effective April 1, <br />2002, as outlined in a letter from Mr. Montplaisirdated March 28, 2002, <br />for appointed officials, absent any other existing process; and to <br />schedule a review of the procedures and the form next April 1 st. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />17. VOUCHERS, Aooroved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher <br />No. 162,278 through No. 162,612. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />18. MEETING UPDATES; GOVDOCS; ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SURVEY; REGIONAL <br />CHILD SUPPORT TESTIMONY; METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, <br />Committee reoorts <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as <br />well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson informed commissioners that a representative of the govdocs delivery system <br />will be here Wednesday to train county departments on keeping the website updated <br /> <br />,--- <br /> <br />Mrs. Sorum said the rural economic development group is $1,300 away from meeting their goal <br />of $5,000 to conduct a survey through NDSU. <br />
