for the division of costs for election officials and any other <br />monetary disbursements relative to such elections. <br /> <br />2. AUTHORITy: This agreement is authorized by VII, Section 10 of <br />the Constitution of the State of North Dakota and North Dakota <br />Century Code Chapters 54-40 and 40-21. <br /> <br />PLA_N: The parties agree to the following implementation: <br /> <br />(a) Each entity shall be responsible for enforcement of <br />its policies, laws and ordinances relative to the <br />distribution and review of petitions of candidates and <br />for the filing of said petitions in their respective <br />offices. <br /> <br />(b) The County shall provide to the City an election <br />calendar at the time the County receives said calendar <br />from the Secretary of State of North Dakota. <br /> <br />(c) The County and City shall be responsible for any <br />legal publications they are required to publish in their <br />respective official newspapers. <br /> <br /> (d) The City shall certify to the County the names of <br /> all eligible candidates for office, and the position on <br /> the ballot, at least 55 days prior to the election. The <br /> County will be responsible for the actual printing of <br /> ballots with the costs being the responsibility of the <br /> City. If the City has more than one thousand (1,000) <br /> eligible voters the County will use optical scan ballots. <br /> <br /> (e) The County shall be responsible for establishing and <br /> managing the polling locations for the joint elections, <br /> including setting the hours polls are to be open. <br /> Polling hours shall be consistent throughout the county. <br /> <br />(f) The County shall be responsible for naming the <br />election board, including inspectors, for the joint <br />elections in accordance with NDCC Title 16.1. The City <br />shall provide the County with names of prospective <br />Election Inspectors at least 55 days prior to election. <br /> <br />(g) The County shall provide and maintain necessary poll <br />books required by law. The County shall provide the City <br />with a listing of the voters in the city election within <br />45 days following a joint election. <br /> <br />(h) The canvassing board shall be the County Canvassing <br />Board in accordance with NDCC Title 16.1. The Resolution <br />Board shall be named by the County Auditor as provided in <br />NDCC Title 16.1. <br /> <br /> <br />
