Quarterly Report:

Since the last quarterly report was filed the primary focus of the grant has been in the
following areas:

· Automation of the daily processes for the remote and host sites.
Long-term funding of the central repository.
· Upgrading of the NDRIN server
· Creation of NDRIN advertising brochures.
· Marketing and promotion of NDRIN to non-participating counties, as well as,
potential Intemet subscribers.

The Microfilming project has been completed in all forty-four participating counties and
all the re-takes have been completed.

During the past quarter thirty-three counties agreed to help in the long-term funding of
NDRIN. The NDRIN Board then sent a letter to the remaining twenty North Dakota
counties asking them to reconsider their decision not to help in funding the NDRIN
electronic central repository. This letter asked that each county consider contributing a
portion of the proceeds they get from the newly enacted "Document Preservation Fee" to
help fund the NDRIN electronic central repository. NDRIN counties were asked
contribute $2/document, while the non-NDRIN counties were asked to contribute
$1/document.

An NDRIN advertising brochure was developed and sent to over 600 potential NDR1N
subscribers in late December. We are currently working with many of those potential
subscribers to answer any questions that they ma have about NDRIN.

During the past quarter we finished testing the modification and integrating the Non-ECS
vendor's applications into the NDRIN central repository. Walsh and McKenzie counties
were the pilot sites for their respective vendors and have been able to upload and view
their data through the NDRIN web site. We now are working on automating the process
of extracting and upload the Non-ECS vendor's data into the NDRIN central repository.

Eleven counties that were not part of the original pilot project have signed on to become
full members of NDRIN. Equipment has been ordered to allow these counties to begin to
transmit their electronic land records to the NDRIN central repository. The equipment is
currently being configured and should be shipped to each county with two weeks.

The following key project dates have been defined:

FEMA project complete
Data collection for Non-ECS counties

December 31, 2001
January 18, 2002
