<br />ROTATIONAL DEPARTMENT MEETING <br />_ JANUARY 22, 2002--2:00 PM <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the Rotational Group "A" meeting to order with commissioners <br />present as follows: John Meyer, Robyn Sorum, Scott Wagner and Alon Wieland. Donna <br />Schneider was absent. Also present were Michael Montplaisir, Frank Klein, Bob Holmbeck and <br />Mark Thelen, representing Southeast Cass Water Resource District. Deanna Kensrud and <br />Charlotte Sandvik were absent. <br /> <br />2. DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br />Tax Director <br />. Mr. Klein said farm land values will in increase by 5% and values for the county as a <br />whole will most likely increase by 5%. He said that farm land makes up approximately <br />15% of the county's total valuation with the remaining 85% coming from the metro area. <br /> <br />Information Services <br />. Mr. Holmbeck said the network's core infrastructure has been replaced. <br /> <br />. He said implementation of govdocs and updating the county website will be done this <br />month. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />He said a large project for this year will be installing computers and phone equipment at <br />the new jail site. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Water Resource Districts <br />. Mr. Thelen said litigation is on-going with the Maple River Dam project. <br /> <br />. He said the gates are completed at Bald Hill Dam. <br /> <br />. He said snagging and clearing of the river has not progressed due to the unusually <br />warm winter. <br /> <br />Auditor <br />. Mr. Montplaisir said his office is preparing for upcoming elections and due to <br />redistricting, much work has to be done to educate the public about new precinct lines. <br />He said the plan is to inform voters about precinct information through the county's <br />website, a mailing to each address in the county and an insert in the newspaper during <br />county government week including precinct maps. <br /> <br />. He is working with Pro West to load parcel information from the GIS system to the <br />AS400 tax system so that his office is able to call up voter information, including <br />precinct number, legislative and commission district through the tax system. <br /> <br />-'.
