Cooperative Purchasing Venture Page I of 3 <br /> <br />Cooperative Purchasing Venture <br /> <br />Opportunities for Minnesota's Governmental Units <br /> <br />What is it? <br /> <br />The Cooperative Purchasing Venture is a members-only program that enables participants to purchase <br />goods and services under contract terms established by the state of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Who can join? <br /> <br />All governmental units are eligible for CPV membership. A "governmental unit" is def'med as any city, <br />county, tom, school district, other political subdivision of this or any state, another state, and any <br />agency of the state of Minnesota or the United States, and includes any instrumentality ora <br />governmental unit. <br /> <br />If you have questions about eligibility, please contact Sherry Brown, Materials Management Division, at <br />651-297-2683 (TrY 651-282-5799). <br /> <br />Save money ... <br /> <br />The Cooperative Purchasing Venture program offers an easy way for local governments to save money. <br />By following a simple three-step process, CPV members save up to 75% on a wide variety of products: <br /> <br />· Look up the commodity in the index. <br />· Retrieve a copy of the contract release. <br />· Place an order directly with the vendor. <br /> <br />Save time ... <br /> <br />Quite simply, the CPV program is designed to give Minnesota citizens the most value for the dollar, <br />saving time in the process. <br /> <br />CPV helps its members: <br /> <br />· reduce or eliminate product specification research time; <br />· enhance and simplify product selection, achieving maximum value; <br />· minimize time identifying new vendors; and <br />· reduce or eliminate the time and costs to award, process and maintain a contract. <br /> <br />Membership <br /> <br />The annual CPV membership period runs fi:om July 1 through June 30.
