CONTRACT FOR SERVICES <br /> <br /> THIS CONTRACT is entered into effective as of the Ist day of January, 2002, by <br />and between CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA, a political subdivision of the State of <br />North Dakota, (the "County") and FARGO CASS COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />CORPORATION, a North Dakota non-profit coq~oration, (the "FCCEDC"). <br /> <br />Preliminary Statement <br /> <br /> The FCCEDC is engaged in facilitating economic development in Cass County, <br />North Dakota. County desires to utilize the services of FCCEDC as provided in this <br />Contract and FCCEDC is willing to provide those services for the County. <br /> <br />In consideration of the mutual promises set forth herein, it is agreed as follows: <br /> <br />1. Description of Work. FCCEDC shall: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Development of Goals. Establish policies and goals for economic <br />development in Cass County and regularly evaluate these policies and <br />goals. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Business Retention. Develop and administer a business retention program <br />to increase the quality of life and number of opportunities for the people of <br />Cass County by facilitating retention and expansion of existing companies to <br />insure a base of pdmary sector businesses. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />National Marketincj. Continue to implement a national marketing program to <br />targeted industries to locate in Cass County, North Dakota. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Workforce Development. Develop labor recruitment programs as well as <br />training for underemployed. Collect data information regarding <br />underemployment, employer studies, student surveys and migration <br />analysis. <br /> <br /> 3. Financial Statements. FCCEDC will deliver to the County an audited <br />financial statement for its year-end December 31, 2001, not later than April 1, 2002 and for <br />its year-end December 31,2002, not later than Apdl 1, 2003. <br /> <br /> 4. Compensation. County shall pay to FCCEDC for its services hereunder in <br />2002 the amount of $175,000. FCCEDC shall be responsible for its expenses including <br />out of pocket expenses, in providing the services to the County. <br /> <br /> 5. Term. The term of this Contract shall be for the calendar year 2002. This <br />Agreement may be renewed for the year 2003 and subsequent years in the event both <br />parties mutually agree in writing. <br /> <br /> <br />
