Q: <br /> <br />Facility Planning Steering Cemndttee: Frequently Asked Questlens <br /> <br />When and where will the steering committee meet? <br /> <br />The dates are outlined on the attached Facility Planning timeline. <br />All meetings of the steering committee will be held at the Skills & Technology Center <br /> <br />What is the expected time commitment? <br /> <br />The time commitment is expected to be 20 hours over a 5-month period. Most steering <br />committee meetings are scheduled on Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm. <br /> <br />How were members selected to participate? <br /> <br />A list of community organizations holding significant and unique perspectives in our community <br />was compiled. Those organizations were asked to select the individuals to represent them. <br /> <br />What is the purpose of the steering committee? <br /> <br />The steedng committee will be responsible for reviewing demographic and facility data, <br />examining future trends that will impact educational facilities, engaging the community in <br />dialogue regarding future direction, formulate options for addressing the school facility needs <br />and presenting recommendations to the Fargo Board of Education regarding the need for <br />construction, renovation and/or other disposition of school facilities. <br /> <br />Do I need to attend EVERY meeting? <br /> <br />The agenda of each meeting will assume you understand the information presented at the <br />previous meeting. While attendance at each meeting is expected, there are always <br />unexpected conflicts that will occur. <br /> <br />Are the steering committee meetings public? <br /> <br />The meetings are held in public, the public does not participate in the meetings of the steering <br />committee. The meetings called Community Dialogues are those designed for public <br />involvement. <br /> <br />Are there any residency requirements of committee members? <br /> <br />In general, they should be taxpayers of Fargo Public School Distdct Number One. While some <br />organizations (neighbourhood associations, Downtown Community Partnership etc.) are <br />geographic specific, most are not. <br /> <br /> <br />
