CASS COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICE BOARD MEETING <br /> <br />January 7, 2002 <br /> <br />There being a quorum present, Chairman Hagen called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: Ms. Schons, Mr. Hagen, Ms. Sorum, Mr. Meyer, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Wieland <br /> <br />Absent: Ms. Schneider <br /> <br />A rovniof Minutes <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Ms. Sorum seconded that the minutes of December 3, 2001 <br /> Board meeting be approved as written· Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2001 Agency Workplan, <br />The Board received the final 2001 agency workplan. Ms. Hogan pointed out one goal that was <br />not achieved was seeking fxmding for welfare fraud. She suggested contacting the state office <br />and soliciting funding directly from the federal government. Mr. Wieland inquired whether there <br />had ever been a discussion regarding funding between county directors and the state office. Ms. <br />Hogan acknowledged that there hasn't been and she would contact the state to initiate. <br />Traill County had discontinued their participation in the regional Family Focused Program this <br />past year. They now arc expressing interest in once again participating. This request is being <br />reviewed as supervision may be a problem with Pat Podoll currently supervising seven staff. <br /> Ms. Schons moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve the final agency workplan <br /> report. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Client Complaint Policy Review <br />Ms. Hogan had the Board members review the agency Client Complaint Policy as it has been <br />several years since last review. <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Ms. Schons seconded the current Client Complaint Policy be <br /> maintained as presented. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Contract -Interpreter Funding, ND Dept. of Human Services <br />The contract for funding of interpreter services was received from the North Dakota Dept. of <br />Human Services. This contract is for $9,000, which is short of the $12,000-$13,000 needed to <br />purchase these services. Ms. Hogan said the state might extend the contract when the $9,000 is <br />spent and more funds are needed. <br /> Mr. Wagner moved and Ms. Schons seconded to approve entering into the contract for <br /> interpreter services with the ND Dept. of Human Services. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
