<br />SUBJECT: ORDINANCE #2005- (OVER DIMENSION VEHICLE REGULATIONS) <br /> <br />ADOPTED DATE: <br /> <br />PAGE40F 8 <br /> <br />F. Permits for 10 percent winter exception. The county highway department or sheriff <br />may issue permits authorizing a specific motor vehicle to exceed the weight <br />limitations stated in subsections A and B by ten percent. The permits may not <br />provide for a gross weight in excess of one hundred five thousand five hundred <br />pounds [47,854.00 kilograms]. The permits may provide for the general movement <br />of products during the period from December first to March seventh. The county <br />highway department or sheriff will charge a fee of $20 for a single movement permit <br />or $50 for a seasonal permit. <br /> <br />ROAD RESTRICTION REDUCTION IN WEIGHTS <br /> <br />When restrictions on county highways are imposed in accordance with state law and Cass <br />County ordinance, the weight classifications as listed below will be used. <br /> <br /> 3 or More Axle Gross Vehicle <br />Class Single Axle Tandem Axle Groupings Weight <br />Class A 18,0001bs 32,000 Ibs 14,000 Ibs per axle 105,500 Ibs <br /> not to exceed 42,000 <br /> Ibs gross weight on <br /> divisible loads <br />Class 1 15,0001bs 30,000 Ibs 12,000 Ibs per axle 80,OOOlbs <br /> not to exceed 36,000 <br /> Ibs gross weight on <br /> divisible loads <br />Class 2 12,0001bs 24,000 Ibs 10,000 Ibs per axle 65,000 Ibs <br /> not to exceed 30,000 <br /> Ibs gross weight on <br /> divisible loads <br />Class 3 Cars and empty trucks only <br /> <br /> <br />1-06. Limitations on extending of load beyond side of motor vehicle. <br />No motor vehicle carrying any load beyond the lines of the left fenders of such vehicle nor <br />extending more than twelve inches [30.48 centimeters] beyond the line of the fenders on <br />the right side of such vehicle may be operated on the highways, except as permitted by <br />section 04. The county highway department or peace officer shall have authority to revoke <br />permits when such holder violates or abuses the privilege or conditions of permit. <br />
