<br />2-11. Special mobile equipment. <br /> <br />a. For the purpose of this policy, special mobile equipment shall mean <br />every non-registered, overweight, self-propelled vehicle that is only <br />incidentally operated or moved over a highway. <br /> <br />b. Special mobile equipment shall include the following vehicles: <br /> <br />1) Workover rigs <br />2) Truck cranes <br />3) Self-propelled scrapers <br />4) Rubber-tired dozers <br />5) Rubber tired loaders <br /> <br />2-12. Application Procedure <br /> <br />a. Permits can be obtained from the County Engineer or Sheriff. <br /> <br />1. Applications may be made in person, via mail, fax or on line. <br /> <br />2. The applicant must read and sign the reverse side of the receipt/permit <br />acknowledging the movement restrictions and requirements. <br /> <br />3. Permits will be in written form and must be in possession prior to starting <br />movement on County Highways. <br /> <br />4. Information required for obtaining permits: <br /> <br />a) Company name and address <br />b) Description of power unit: year, make, capacity, serial number, license <br />number and state, tire sizes, and number of axles <br />c) Description of towed unit: type unit, make, tire sizes, and number of <br />axles <br />d) Overall dimensions of vehicle and load <br />e) Axle weights and gross weight of vehicles and load if overweight is <br />requested <br />f) Point of origin and destination and desired route to be traveled. <br />
