Commission Minutes--March 19,2001 2255 DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ ~ REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MARCH 19, 2001 1. MEETING TO ORDER Vice Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with four members present as follows: Donna Schneider, Alon Wieland, Scott Wagner and Robyn Sorum. John Meyer was absent. 2. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. 3. AGENDA, Order aDDroved MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the order of the agenda with one addition to the consent agenda being a request for leave of absence by an employee in the Sheriff's Department. Motion carried. ~ 4. RESOLUTION #2001-4, Condolences to the familv of the late John Schneider MOTION, passed Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to adopt Resolution #2001-4 as follows: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. WHEREAS, the Board of Cass County Commissioners has learned of the untimely death of United States Attorney, John Schneider, Fargo, North Dakota, on March 9, 2001; and WHEREAS, John Schneider served on many local, state and federal committees, and he served in the North Dakota Legislature from 1982-1992; and WHEREAS, John Schneider is a brother-in-law of fellow Cass County Commissioner, Donna Schneider. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, North Dakota, does hereby express its heartfelt condolences to the John Schneider family. ,~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be inscribed upon the permanent records of the proceedings of the Cass County Board of Commissioners and a copy forwarded to the family.
