<br />ROTATIONAL DEPARTMENT MEETING <br />JANUARY 16, 2001-2:10 PM <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman John Meyer called the Rotational Group "A" meeting to order with commissioners <br />present as follows: Alon Wieland, Robyn Sorum and John Meyer. Scott Wagner arrived later in <br />the meeting. Donna Schneider was absent. Also present were Deanna Kensrud, Frank Klein <br />and Carol Lewis. Bob Holmbeck arrived later in the meeting. Michael Montplaisir and Charlotte <br />Sandvik were absent. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br />Tax Director <br />. Mr. Klein said his office is busy with farm exemptions that were mailed out a few weeks <br />ago to property owners. <br />. He discussed inundated land issues and said that some political subdivisions believe if <br />a property owner is receiving CRP income off the land, it should not be claimed as <br />inundated land. He said it is a fairness and equality issue from the county's point of <br />view. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Reoister of Deeds <br />. Mrs. Kensrud said her office destroyed old personal property filings, as allowed by state <br />law, that were more than 10 years old. <br />. She said a company from Mandan performed the microfilming of records for the FEMA <br />project to disaster proof records. <br />. She said as of January 1 st, her office took over the safe-keeping of wills from the Clerk <br />of Court's office. The Clerk of Court will become a state office in April of this year. <br />. She said the turn around time for documents is 8 or 9 days. <br /> <br />Water Resources <br />. Mrs. Lewis reviewed the activities of each water board. <br />. She said a meeting was held with FEMA officials in regard to appealing the project <br />worksheets for the 2000 summer flood. The result of the meeting was that Ms. Lewis, <br />Jeff Volk. FEMA officials and North Dakota Emergency Management officials will meet <br />to develop policies more pertinent to land in this area. <br /> <br />Information Services <br />. Mr. Holmbeck discussed several projects his office will be involved with this next year, <br />including the conversion of the Road Department computer system and the integration <br />of the Extension Service system into the county network. <br />. He said the jail computer application seems to be working well and several changes <br />have been made to the application. <br />. Mr. Wieland asked Mr. Holmbeck if he has talked with the county coordinator regarding <br />the laptop computers for the commission. Mr. Holmbeck said he has not, but will look <br />into this the middle of next month. <br /> <br />~.
