<br />Commission Minutes--February 7, 2000 2093 <br /> <br />13. STATE'S ATTORNEY UPDATE; MEETING UPDATES; COURT SOFTWARE; COURTHOUSE <br />LUNCH COUNTER; FLOOD STUDY UPDATE; Committee reports <br />Birch Burdick, State's Attorney, reported that he attended the North Dakota State's Attorneys <br />convention in Mandan recently. <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming <br />meetings. Commissioners Wieland, Quick, Meyer and Koenig attended a state-wide meeting <br />in Bismarck last Thursday concerning issues of mutual concern among North Dakota counties. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the State Court Administrator's Office has agreed to provide an exchange <br />of information on court software to determine whether an interface or conversion is a good way <br />to proceed. Names of potential committee members are being provided to the State. <br /> <br />The Courthouse lunch counter operator, Vivian Miller, has submitted her resignation effective <br />March 31, 2000. Mrs. Johnson said an advertisement was placed in The Forum seeking <br />applications from interested citizens who have experience in the restaurant business. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick said Moore Engineering will soon complete the flood study, and she will schedule <br />a meeting of the Master Plan Flood Committee after the report is received. Mr. Koenig said he <br />and Commissioner Wieland have met with Terry Compson, along with County Engineer Keith <br />Berndt and Jeff Volk, from Moore Engineering, regarding flooding concerns. <br /> <br />14. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />three letters from North Dakota Department of Transportation regarding proposed <br />highway improvements on Interstate 94 in Cass County; <br />letter from David Ratchenski concerning his access problem on the south side of the <br />Maple River in Section 13, Maple River Township; <br />two letters from Attorney John Goff, representing R.D. Knutson and others, concerning <br />proposed Highway 81 renovation project south of Fargo and flood mitigation study; <br />letter from Mary Jenkins regarding two-year tax exemption on new home construction. <br /> <br />15.
