These funds were administered by the State Attorney General's Office previously and helped fund the positions and expenses of our local Cass County Drug Task Force. This grant does not require a local match, but these grant funds only pay a part of the salary and expenses incurred by each current participating office or agency. The additional expenses which are listed on the grant under local funding reflect our contribution to this project. I would ask that this be placed on your regular agenda for March 21, 2005 to give the public an opportunity to comment on the grant request per federal guidelines. Sample Motion: Move to authorize Glenn Ellingsberg, Sheriffs Office, to proceed with the electronic application for the 2005 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant on behalf of Cass County and all subsequent electronic filings which may be required during the grant period.
