MAR

RECEIVEU

7 2005

CASS COUNTY COMMISSION

MEMORANDUM

TO:

Cass County Commission

FROM:

Keith Berndt, Cass County Engineer

DATE:

March 7, 2005

SUBJECT:

Consent Agenda Topic for March 7, 2005 Meeting:
Spring Load Restrictions on County Highways

I would like to impose spring weight restrictions on Cass County Highways
on March 21, 2005, depending on the weather. I've enclosed a resolution
and map with the proposed spring load restriction postings. The criteria
used for pavements was the pavement condition and area served. Most
small towns have one unrestricted road access.

Most gravel roads are posted at a Class 2 restriction. The exceptions are a
section of County 9 serving the Woods Elevator, a section of County 11
west of Grandin, and a section of County 25 serving Hickson.

SUGGESTED MOTION: Adopt resolution implementing spring load
restrictions.

.I:\Admin-Eng\Commission Consp\2005 Commission CoITespondence\REVISED Consent Memo Spring Load
Rest 030705.doc
